When Asad shouts at our dear Zoya and accuses her of being a human who doesn't value human relationships, why do we think bad of him? How can we not think of what he says in another light?
Asad knows that what he feels for Zoya is strong. In the beginning, it was natural to spite the girl who wore jeans but as the days passed he got to know the girl underneath the western clothes. He doesn't know it's called Love, but he wants none of it. He knows he will hurt Zoya and it is rational for him to believe all the bad things that were previously in his mind.
His thoughts about her have drastically changed, but he can't accept it! He doesn't want to love her. He is protecting the two of them.
This is no misunderstanding, it is just the way his mind functions to defend itself.
And how do we always forget that we hurt the ones we love most?
