On staying back in Kkusum after announcing his exit
'I didn't threaten to quit or make it an issue for publicity'
After announcing your decision to opt out of Kkusum, what prompted you to stay back?
I met Jeetendra Uncle and the channel head Tarun Katial. Both promised to look into the issues that were bothering me and resolve them. I hope to see the changes in the next few weeks.
Tv actors threaten to walk out which is viewed as a publicity stunt at times?
I didn't threaten to quit or make it an issue for publicity. Honestly, I don't need this kind of negative publicity. Even today, if the issues which are bothering me are not resolved, it would not only be detrimental for the betterment of the show. But I think my decision will come true soon.
You've walked out of Kkusum earlier and returned. So also the same thing in Saara Akaash....
I didn't leave Kkusum. It was ekta who replaced me due to certain date issues. Of course, they also brought me back on this show. About Saara Akaash, I didn't leave the show, the character was supposed to disappear for a few months. As the storyline progressed, the character was brought back. That's probably why a reputation developed that I was walking out of serials, which wasn't the case.
Is it that you can't adjust to the functioning of the TV Industry?
I've adjusted a lot in the last few years. I come from a corporate business background and work with proper planning and time management. So at times there are issues, but none that are unmanagable.
Considering your business background, some feel you have an atttitude problem?
If anybody thinks I have an attitude, I don't apologise for it. My background and my upbringing is something I am proud of. I view it as an asset rather than a negative thing.
