Part 15:
Finally the day arrived……………
It was a celebration of 1 year of ETF and also the success of it…..so it was organized at a grand level…..A stage was also put up at the far end of the party hall….if anybody wished to speak or felicitate or even entertain the crowd, then they could use the stage!
Liza was planning to dance and Shree was taunting her continuously for that while Sameer had a different plan altogether for himself and Aisha…..

Liza was nowhere to be seen and Shree didn't know why but he was curious to know what she was planning to do….She had kept it a secret from him as well….
He smacked himself for even thinking about that…Why was he bothered so much???let her go to hell!
A day before, they had a silly fight over the dance…..
Shree: Liza, kyun hum sab ko torture karne pe thuley ho? Aise atyachaar kyun humpe thomp rahi ho?
Liza: oh shut up specky….main teek taak dance karthi hoom, ok?….aur yeh baat tum acche se jaanthe ho….humaare college day yaad hai na??
And wasn't that what bothered him as well……her dance was a hit and all the guys were literally drooling on her and shouting out "ONCE MORE.." and Shree didn't know why he felt a pang of jealousy when he saw that…..He felt as if something pricked him in his little heart and felt a sense of insecurity!
Shree snapped out and cleared his unwanted thoughts and walked away angrily knowing well that the crazy forensic doctor was stubborn beyond all limits and no matter what she would never listen to him!
But even then, he kept his fingers crossed hoping that the crazy girl wouldn't wear any crazy outfit to add to his irritation! He was forced to think who was more crazy….was it Liza who picked up silly reasons to bicker with him or he himself who couldn't tolerate her even for a minute but at the same time, a part of him always scanned the place to check if she was anywhere around…..
In a crowd, his eyes always tried to catch her glimpse and always his eyes first darted to her! He hated her to the core….but even then felt he had a copyright over her!

The entire team had arrived early that evening……Except for Sameer, all were there…..Aisha hadn't seen him since afternoon…..He had left office after lunch saying that he had some important meeting…..She wondered where he was struck till now…..He wasn't picking her calls too…..
Shree came and sat beside her….he saw her looking around and enquired, " Woh abi tak nahi aaye…"
Aisha mindlessly blurted out, "haan, na jaane kahaan reh gaye"
Shree looked at her naughtily because he had just caught her off guard…..though he, in fact the whole team knew about their closeness it wasn't official and nobody spoke openly about it……
Shree grinned and spoke up sarcastically, "Aisha….mujhe nahi patha tha ke tum commissioner sir ka itna eagerly wait kar rahi ho!"
Aisha understood his taunt and immediately shot back, "waise tum kahaan teh?? Liza ke aage peeche ghoomne se fursat milgayi toh ab yahaan mere taangh keechne chale aaye, huh??"
Shree: [flaring up at the mention of her name] Aisha, tum baat ko kahaan se kahaan le jaa rahi ho yaar?? Usska naam bhi matth lo mere saamne??
Aisha: kyun?? Ab aisa kya kiya Liza ne??
Shree: hum sab ko already apne bhakwaas baaton se torture karthi rehthi hai….woh khaafi nahi tha ke ab dance karne waali hai!
Aisha grins and playfully hits him, "itna bhi boori nahi hai Shree….In fact, she dances well!"
Shree suddenly gets curious, "So tumhe patha hai ke woh kya dance karne waali hai, huh??"
Aisha: haan patha hai…par surprise hai…so aage kuch matth poochna….thodi dher mein patha chal jaayega…
Saying that Aisha cut short the discussion and didn't relent to Shree's plead to tell him all about it!

Meanwhile, Arjun stood outside the hall in the corridor at the back, to the right most end as if nothing around him nor the party happenings concerned him……He wasn't interested in such celebrations…..he opted out of it and always stood far apart from the enjoying crowd! He always felt that such celebrations and happiness weren't for him!
There was someone else who stood at the far opposite end looking into the darkness and he was in his own thoughts…..He was thinking about Aisha and his future with her….He was happy and also excited about it…..And he needed this solitary time and space to come in terms with all of it and relax down to go ahead with his special plan to surprise his lady love!
The friends weren't aware of the other's presence so near to each other…..
Both needed the other's support at these moments…..Arjun missed his friend always at such lonely times…..And Sameer, deep within himself, wished his buddy's support for the big day!
Sameer took a deep breath and turned around and that's when he saw Arjun standing all alone at the other end…..he sure had his anger intact in him but yet, somewhere deep down, his friendship lay buried and he could see how lonely his friend was…he wanted to go to him, give him a warm consoling hug and comfort him telling that he wasn't alone in this big world….
He wanted to assure him that he would be there for him….but something prevented him…..Wasn't the hatred he displayed a faade which hid the real care and affection he still had for Arjun! Well may be….but the reason for it?? Was it so big enough that he still couldn't throw away that faade and mask, drain away that ego and embrace his friend with all his love and affection….At times, Sameer himself found the reason too foolish, too silly but then again, he never could gather himself up and take that first step towards reviving their friendship!
Sameer walked to the door of the hall and he had just walked inside when Arjun felt a familiar presence near him and turned around…..There was no one there but still he felt that Sam, his buddy was somewhere near him…..
He let a deep breath….how much he missed his Sam! But yet, the distance was so huge that it felt next to impossible for him to close it down……
He snapped out and walked in when there was a buzz from inside that commissioner had arrived and the event was about to start…..Not an inch of him was excited or interested for all of this celebrations but he had to for the sake of professionalism and ethics!

The celebrations started with the welcome speech from Rathod…….
He had not met Aisha that evening yet….he was trying not to meet her to make the surprise real big….if he met her or talk to her, he wouldn't be able to keep it a secret for long! So he kind of avoided her…..She was confused by his indifferent behaviour!
Soon after the introduction and welcome, commissioner addressed and felicitated the team for his commendable job and the success of ETF
Once the formal speeches were over, the meeting was dispersed for entertainment and refreshments…..
As the formal environment transformed into a more casual party like atmosphere and all were having fun, the lights dimmed and the focus light was on the stage……
Shree turned around hearing the music rolling out……the entire team focused back on the stage…
There she was, Liza at the middle of the stage, all focus just on her…yes, she was dressed to kill…..glamorous would be an understatement but it was a pretty decent dress much to Shree's relief!
He didn't know why was he even caring about what she wore!…
She looked at Shree once and smiled before she started dancing to the tunes……

Shree couldn't help gape at her moves…..Liza caught him staring at her and winked….He snapped out instantly and looked away as if he was least interested in seeing her groove……
That's when Shree happened to look around to find all in the hall glued to the dancing lady! He saw Chotu gaping with his mouth wide open…..he tried distracting Chotu but of no use….He pushed aside Shree's hand and continued looking at Liza!
Shree looked around and found even the ever akdu ACP looking at her…..
He was damn irritated…….and the worse part was he didn't know the reason!
The romantic song and its meaning made Rathod forget his surprise plan and found his eyes glancing towards Aisha…yes, wasn't his lonely life gonna be filled with happiness due to his lady love! As if, she heard it, she also glanced towards Sameer and their eyes locked in a unique love symphony!
Though it seemed like Arjun was staring the stage, his mind was somewhere else…..he couldn't stop himself from going to his past…..he remembered his happy life with Roshni at those moments…..
Sakshi was constantly looking at him…she could see tears lurking at the corner of his eyes…..She really felt like going to him and holding his hands and consoling him but she couldn't do that…..He had built a unbreakable ice wall around himself which she couldn't dare to break, atleast not so soon……

Liza finished the last step of it and thanked all for bearing with her…..Giving everybody her trademark smile, she walked out of the stage!

Aisha had just left glancing Sameer for a small moment to clap for Liza….and when she turned back, he was missing…..he was nowhere to be seen…..Thats when lights focused back on the stage, seeking attention from all and there he was…..
Sameer Rathod was back on the stage with a mike….He had called up Shree too to play the drums…
Aisha placed her hand on her mouth shocked "OMG, Sameer aur ghaana???!"
Arjun also focused back leaving all other pretences….He smiled to himself as if he already knew what was coming up!
Sameer spoke up, "Good evening…..I am sorry…main phir aagaya…important tha, isiliye aana padaa….meri life ka sabse badi khushi main aap sab se share karna chahtha hoom [taking a deep breath]….bohat dher se hi sahi, maine realize kiya hai ke life mein agar ek saccha humsafar ho toh life aur bhi khoobsurat bann jaathi hai…...aur lagtha hai ke mujhe woh saccha humsafar milgayi hai! usi ke saat main apni baaki ki zindagi share karna chahtha hoom….har ek pal, har ek lamha jeena chahtha hoom…[pausing and looking at Aisha]..This one is for you love…"
