Chapter 3

Manyata was ready for her operation, she would destroy the layer of protection that udayveer had built around him, take him out and bring him before law. But she needed to be careful. His history showed that he was totally ruthless, he did not hesitate to kill anyone. Killing was for as simple for uday as a lion would kill a deer. Never ever did his hand shiver or did he miss a shot. He was a hardcore criminal.

Manyata looked at jaggat sitting next to him and asked

M: are you scared jaggat, for this operation?

J: no, its just that if our plans of capturing udayveer fail, none of us will be alive. my parents have only me for support. Who would look after them if I die?

M: don't worry jaggat,, we will catch him when he is least prepared.

J: yes

M: believe me, jaggat

The conversation was temporarily closed. Manyta looked outside the jeep as they sped to sampur. Today was the D day. They were going to catch the shipment of spirit that was coming to Mumbai via sampur border. The shipment worth crores and it belonged to udayveer. This was going to be his first blow. And she intended to be the person to deliver it

The police men stationed at the border were uday's helpers and uday gave them a hefty bribe every month to allow his "goods " to be transported along the border.

They soon reached the border. The police men at the border saluted manyta. She went inside the office and called the chief of the border police

M: please sit, I have some questions to ask, mr varma

V: yes, madam

M: so do you check every truck that passes this way?

V: yes mam, every inch of it.

M: but that's not what I learnt.

V: whaa.. what? No we are so strict about all goods that pass this way?

M: what about udayveer's?

V: what?

M: I asked what about udayveer's goods. Do you check them?

V: I don't know what your talking about?

Manyata got up from her seat and caught hold of mr varma's collar with such a force that he nearly fell from the chair he was sitting.

M: tell the truth varma

V: I….. I…

M: don't try to lie. I have enough evidence. I will make sure that you go to jail for all this.

It was at that moment that mr varma's phone rang. Manyta took the phone and saw

"udayveer sir calling"

She put the phone in loudspeaker mode. The voice that next filled the room had an aura of strength and power in it

" mr varma, my truck will pass the border around 11, see that it gets clearance the momemt it comes. You know I don't like delays na. the money will be deposited in your account as usual."

Saying this udayveer disconnected the call.

M: so mr varma, so you don't know udayveer? Or are you gona say the call is fake?

V: please mam, save me

M: why should I ?

V: please, he threatened to kill my family if I refused to do what he said. I had to obey him

M:or did the money he gave you cloud your judgement of what is good and what is bad eh?

V: no mam, truly he threatened to kill my family. They were held at gunpoint by his goons in front of my eyes. I had to agree, iam so sorry.

M: don't you know accepting bribes will end you in jail?

V: I know.. I know …. But…

M: you can repair the damage that you did

Mr varma looked at manyta, confusion clear on his face

M: do your duty at least once

V: what? He will kill my family

M: don't worry nothing will happen to you and your family, I give you the guarantee. Or get ready to spent your remaining years in jail

V: ok… I will…I will

The talk was stopped when a lorry came outside.

M: go . do your duty

Mr varma went out with a heavy heart. The driver in the truck told him

D: sir yeh, udayveer sir ki gaadi he.

V: I want to check this vehicle

D: par sir

V: check the vehicle

The driver understands what is happening and tries to run away, but he was caught by jaggat

Mr varma confirms that the lorry had spirit

Many vehicles were heading toward them. They were news reporters whom manyta called. She however left the place as she did not want the world to know her role in this raid

As she left the place with jaggat , she looked back at mr varma, who was giving details about capturing the spirit lorry and its owner.

J: why did you give him the credit, manyta?

M: its udayveer we are dealing. If he knows we are behind him then he will finish us even before we can say "please". We need to keep our identity safe till he becomes weak. We need to cut all his support.

J: oh, I see manyta.

M: did you get any details afterhacking his computers

J: nothing important till now. But I am trying hard

M: ok, call me if you find anything

U: shreya this dress looks good on you

S: thanks sir

U: you know blue is my favorite color

S: is it? its even my favorite colour

He touches her neck softly with his fingers as if he was intending to examine her locket. His fingers lingered on her neck more than necessary

She closed her eyes in response

Udayveer was flirting with shreya when he received a call. His face changed from excitement to anger hearing the news

He literally threw his phone

U: shreya ask shahil to arrange my car, now. He barked

S: yes sir

And she left the room

Manyata was returning in her jeep alone when a car stopped in front of her car. She had to hit the brakes hard to avoid hitting the car.

She was irritated. Who the h**l was this. She stormed out of her jeep, when she saw the person in the car coming out. She stood where she was

She was captured by his eyes, the eyes of a snake. a shiver ran along her spine.

Udayveer can and stood in front of her, and told

u: miss manyata?

m: yes😕

u: manyta, It would be good for you to mind your own business. This police job is not for ladies . for ladies there is always a better job.- to please a man in his bedroom"

m: you"😡

u: calm down darling. Don't make me meet you again "
