If asad said what he was saying to himself to his ammi, she would have certified him crazy in love. Assad is a man who tries to control everything around him as he does not want to be hurt by the unexpected like the betrayal of his father. He is attracted to soya but he does not wish to because she is not the type of girl he wants to fall in love with. Also being a product of a failed marriage he is fearful of repeating his fathers pattern and I have read that kids from such homes do have these fears.

Zoya also has her own psychological issue. She feels rejected by her father and is fearful of that rejection from asad. She will never acknowledge her own feelings for asad till she gets a guarantee from asad that he loves her and won't reject her.

They are adults who are psychologically damaged by their parents behavior and are afraid of getting hurt or hurting whom you love.

I am loving qubool hai right now.

Very aptly described! I have always been drawn to Asad because of his complicated line of thought that emerges from his complicated past.. the fact that he tries to be so much in control of every situation and more often than not, is successful in keeping up.. But falling in love is more than just a situation to be tackled!

In her own ways Zoya too has let it out that she respects and has a fond corner for Asad. But how can she go beyond this, knowing that her confession of love might not get any reciprocation, no response... very strongly i feel it has to be accepted by Asad to himself first, then he must reveal it to Zoya and only then can be safe and sure to give her love back to him :) lol too complex!!

I know, i've been loving this show a lot too! :) thanks for writing in!
