No matter how much i do understand why Asad keeps himself awayfrom Zoe, something disturbs me. I understand that for him, love was his parents love which didn't work out and left his mother hurt and alone. I totally get it that Asad fears that someday the saying 'Like father like son' may come true and he may end up hurting his love, his Zoya.

But one thing keeps nagging me somewhere in my mind. What are the CV's or the writers showing? That the main lead, the male protagonist of the story has no faith in his love? That he doesn't believe that Zoya will be the only woman he ever loves? That all his morals, his ethics, his 'tehzeeb' he keeps boasting about is nothing but a facade?

Doesn't his love assure him that he will never look on any other other woman till Zoya lives? Doesn't he trust his love for Zoya? Its sad.

Trust your love, Asad. Have faith in your love for Zoya. You won't hurt her like your father did. Because you are a man who chants mantras of 'tehzeeb' and you won't do anything thats wrong. Above all, because your love is true.

Its not his Tehzeeb or Temeez. Its the boundaries he has created so that no girl comes to him. He is a very feared man. Afraid very very vurnerable.

He knows Zoya deserves someone who would keep her happy all the time. Not someone like him who has an OCD disorder and would hurt her all the time!

He loves her, so he is afraid to hurt her. Hence doesn't let her come closer to him.

Makes sense. But today he said 'afterall i'm rashid ahmed khan's son'! That kind of irked me.

I agree he loves her too much and believes she deserves better. That all i agree with. But where he comapres himself to his father, that disturbs me

As a child, he witnessed two people who loved each other immensely, part ways. Their relation fell apart. So, its that deep-rooted fear he has of turning out to be like his father. At the end of the day, he is Rashid's son, what if he were to ever fall in love and end up doing the same thing, hurting and causing pain to the love of his life. This is something that torments him and that's why he refrains from verbalising his feelings. His constant fear which was reflected in his monologue also today "agar ye baat aur aage badhi to main tumhe dard dunga or something he said" and then after that his next dialogue was "hoon to main Rashid Khan ka beta."
