The mother who left, the stranger who won't leave

I'm sure once we have seen more of the back story, I will again sympathize with Saraswati but I could not help but grow a sort of dislike towards her today (if that is the word). Committing suicide is one thing but leaving your child who is meant to be your world all alone is something which bothers me a lot. Not only that but she walked in to death knowing her son was calling out to her. I know she must have been really depressed to take such an extreme step but no wonder Saras feels so insecure of relationships. If he couldn't keep his mum happy enough to keep her alive, what hope does he have to make others happy?

Saraswati obviously went through a lot but currently all I know is that she left her young child and scarred him for life. She left him. That's the bottomline.

Fortunately for Saras, there is a 'stranger' standing outside his closed doors waiting for him to open up...no matter how long it takes. She seeks out any option to make him happy, make him feel alive. Kumud.

Alright, I am all heartbroken and ready to go, Reema! Here are my two cents! 😆

Through Saras, I've unknowingly and unconsciously worshipped Saraswati. I figured that out when I saw the flashbacks of the time Saras spent with his mother. But what I felt when I saw her was bittersweet. Indeed, I respect her just as much as her son because I've grown accustomed to loving her through him. However, I completely agree with you, Reema, when you state that a mother would not let her own grief overwhelm her, and give up her life entirely in front of her very young child. I really felt like, as Saraswati walked deeper into the lake, she took the light of Saras' being with her. He is essentially shackled by his promises to her, and basically, that's the only reason he's still breathing himself, as far as I can see.
So when you look at a character who is, as I like to say for comic relief (and just so I don't get too wrapped up into Saras' grief) the definition of a dukhi aatma, you can really get a whiff of who he is, and what he's endured in life. And that's why I think today's episode, no matter the heartbreak it gives, was so important because it allowed us as an audience to focus on Saras' life: his struggles, his very limited happiness... everything

But, today also helped us focus on Kumud, even though she was relatively in the background. We really got a sense of just how affected she is by Saras: from his grief, his happiness, from the slight widening of his eyes to his very rare laugh. Today's episode, more so than tomorrow's precap proved to me that it is only Kumud who can help Saras because looking at her, he remembered his Maa during the game. He looks at her, and suddenly he's lost in memories.
I would also like to add, and perhaps I'm going too deep with this, that Kumud's stance, and the way she was playing the game was very much similar to Saraswati. I see very apparent parallels in both of them when it comes to being tender, caring, and loving. Today proved to me how Kumud is already Saras' pillar. Outstanding episode! 😳

i often find ur posts too heavy so i dont often comment ...dont mind u do write good its just that i seldom connect ur depth posts with the story going on .

But today i feel connecting with ur post coz today i actually realised Saras Kumud going deep ...Kumud is unknowingly entering the deeper closed corners of Saras which will make her future inspiration of Saras...whether she is there physically or not she will always be in him forever, as Saras is one of those who keeps people in himself forever and after his mother Kumud would be the only one ...look i am going deep too ...phew ..i hate it ..lol

Just want Kumud be there for Saras whenever he needs a mental solace standing by his alters with a lamp ,spreading her lights in his gloomiest corners

LOL! I'm sure you aren't the only one who feels that way. Maybe I do tend to look deeper in to things than they are (which makes me look dumb ironically) but I guess this kind of storytelling is food for my soul. I love observing & analysing the small nuances.

You have analysed the situation yourself very well. Not only did Kumud expose that vulnerability today but I'm sure tomorrow she will soothe it too. I am very much looking forward to that scene because Saras should be finally letting down some of his guard at least.

This is why whatever is happening currently is so integral to the future storyline. Kumud will become everything for Saras but before that happens, he needs to come out of his past demons.

Well said Reema..Trust me I never feel sorry for Saraswati whenever they show the scene where she is walking into the lake.. never! I know its easier said than done and she must have seen no hope left.. But a woman of her stature, who is praised for her righteousness by one and all, is worshipped by her son..how could she not think of her son when she decided to end her life.. ? Knowing that he is only close to her, how could she leave her own child alone at someone else's mercy? well... I wish at some point they put in a scene where someone, preferably Dukhba brings this up.. Saraswati died not because Saras couldn't love her enough or vice versa, but because she succumbed to her weakness to overcome her own grief.. Saras should learn from the mistake his mother did..
About Kumud, you said it all.. she is his healer.. :)

Agree
saraswati was so wrong...she chose a easy way to escape leaving a poor child behind.. I'm looking forward to get d backstory unfold.. Cz dnt knw y bt i think Saraswati must have thought abt saras at least once before taking such big step. Myt b she must have thought tht Her friend DB will take care of saras... She must b relived after knowing tht behind her Desai's moreover DB will surely give saras tht love n affection...

We dont know why and for what reason Saraswati left her child alone... there must be a very big reason nor else she wont left him alone when she knows she was life to him.
