Its complicated but I will try..! :) It all traces back to the time Saras lost his mother.. that was a huge loss for a child who was only close to his mother..never got affection from his so called father.. Dukhba took care of him and showered him with so much love that he started calling her ''mai'' ... She was snatched away too when LN married Guman and they shifted to Dubai.. Guman in all these years has clinically and intentionally kept Saras cut off from his father..Saras who looked for a mother in her could never find one.. Despite the rejection letter he wrote, and despite of all his futile efforts to not fall for her, the inevitable has happened..Not only emotionally,he is physically attracted to her too.. and knowingly or unknowingly he did cross the line.. which was wrong, especially when he has rejected her..Nevertheless he wasn't hesitating to open up to her.( referring to all those incidents you mentioned ) Just when he was beginning to develop a connection as profound as one he had years back, after all these years of loneliness , Guman played her old trick.. Isolated him from Kumud by playing dirty.. It was a very calculated move since she knows Kumud is a very self respected girl hence she won't take any wrong accusation of trying to get close to Saras, on her.. Kumud fell for the trap and punished both of them with her condition of staying four steps away.. Saras has no clue about this..And the final nail in the coffin was accusing Kumud of being a gold digger trying to seduce her son.. Kumud was bound to react and Saras was pushed to confess that day, something he didn't intend to do.. Now he blames himself for getting into a situation where he has given false hopes to Kumud by admitting he feels something for her.. So he withdrew back into his shell and cut off from her.. Its agitating him and killing him from inside like it has been all these years.. But then he had no one to take out the frustation of the suffocation he felt. Now he has Kumud, who is taking everything he is throwing at her ..Reminds me of that dialogue, '' mein tumhe rokta hun, kyunki tum ruk jati ho '' Hope that helped..Sorry for the long reply..
