A: Initially I thought that the character I play in the serial Diya, Baati aur Hum doesn't exist but I thank the writer who has supported and believed my skills to portray such a character wherein I can assure my audience that by moulding the character of Sooraj Rathi in their life, will make a positive difference towards the same.
Q. What is your opinion over the role played by women in personal and professional life?
A: Women are good homemakers, caretakers of the family, kids and husband; moreover I believe that they should be passionate in whichever field they choose as their career. A right stroke of balance in work and family can make a woman better in both personal and professional life.
Q. Do you think women's responsibility should be limited to domestic environment than exploring them through external environment?
A: Women should do everything and in fact, they have ousted men in every field. God has given birth to women to encourage men by being their sole inspiration. She has played the role of moulding and shaping man's life in every sphere. As today's women walk shoulder to shoulder with men and are no more considered to be a stereotype. The challenges that they face surprises every being, thus leading to set an epitome for men.
Q. What is your share of success and failures in your life?
A: Before coming to Mumbai, I realized that how blessed I am to be a part of a joint family. I realize the value of every relationship and I believe that my values and relationship with my family is well rooted as I hail from a small town, thus my upbringing has changed my approach towards life and the experiences in the role that I play in the serial is a reflection of my own life.
Q. As your fans idealize you as an ideal man for every woman, what is your take on it?
A: Well, I believe that every woman's responsibility is to keep her husband happy and every husband's responsibility is to keep his wife happy. So if men try to imbibe the qualities of the character of Sooraj Rathi in Diya, Baati aur Hum, if not completely but even if it in little amounts, they can have a happy family. A family's bound by a woman so a husband should keep her happy and if both are happy then that leads to a happy family.
