SaMud OS- The Glass of Chaash

Kumud and Saras were walking after rejecting the land. Kumud was smiling all her might as Saras had trusted her judgement. She now was very sure that he did have some feelings for her. The problem for her was to find out now what sort-of feelings did he have for her, though she knew them.

As they walked, sun shone mightily over them. They both were heating up. Kumud knew very well he won't bother to state his condition. She herself had to do something. God! Now the female has to take the first step. Kumud looked here and there, she saw a small dhaba [or whatever it is :P].

"Hum yaha thodi der aaram kar lete hai. Waise bhi agle bus 2 baje niklegi, aur abhi dhoop bhi zyaada hai. Thoda aaram milega," said Kumud, hoping he'll agree.

"Hmm," he just said and started walking towards the dhaba.

Why was he ignoring her? Kumud wondered. Seeing him going ahead, she speded up and took the lead. She entered and looked around. She finally spotted two empty cots. One was in the shade of the old banyan tree there, and other, right in the centre with the sun giving the spotlight. Kumud ran and occupied the shady cot and signaled Saras to sit there, beside her.

But Saras, ignored her and went to the sunny cot. He had to ignore her. He couldn't afford to make her suffer. He had already done so to her Maa and Mai, as he thought so. He narrowed his eyes because of the heat with pain and looked down. He knew Kumud was hurt.

Kumud knew this would happen, then too she tried. Why? Because of the faith she had on her heart. She looked at Saras out of her concern just to see him sweating and avoiding the sun. She couldn't possibly make him sit beside her, but just could do something to cool his heart, at least.

She saw at the small boy serving and called him.

"Aap mere liye ek glass chaash laaiye. Aur kya aap mere liye woh jo khadoos aadmi beitha haina waha, usse bhi ek chaash de sakte hai?" Kumud requested the boy rufling his hair.

Anyone could fall for Kumud's sweetness, then what was the boy? He nodded in affirmation sweetly and brought two glasses of chassh. First he gave to his 'didi' and then his 'jiju'.

"Meine toh yeh nahi manguaya tha! Toh aap mujhe yeh kyu de rahe ho?" Saras asked looking at the glass and the boy in order.

"Woh mujhe uss didi ne kaha," said he pointing Kumud.

Kumud gestured her glass asking him to drink his and smiling. Saras frowned. Why did she care for him? He didn't deserve, couldn't she understand! He had to made her believe so. He looked at her with the frown and showing her, he tried to give the boy the glass back. But the boy was long gone when our Majnu was busy staring his Laila and thinking. He slid the glass aside showing Kumud he didn't need her help, though he did, very badly. Kumud stared away in disappointment. She thought for a while.

Maybe he was just trying to show her all this and she was seeing it? She thought of some other way to make him love the world, love her. NO! She didn't want him to love her, did she? Yea, she did. But tried to run from the thought.

She called the boy again and tell him to get the glass from Saras to her. She thought maybe she could offer the boy the chaash rather than wasting it.

The boy went to Saras to get the glass, just to find it empty. Saras had emptied it as soon as Kumud had turned the other way. Saras didn't know the boy was sent by Kumud, so he gave it heartily to the boy.

"Aapke dhaabe ki chaash badiya thi. Meri saari thakan utaar di," said Sras smiling at the boy praising the dhaba.

The boy, as ordered got the chash to Kumud. Just to her surprise, the glass was empty. She chuckled at the thought. She ordered other chaash and gave it to the boy. He readily accepted it. She gave him a kiss on his cheeks and mumbled 'thank you' to him.

She got up, as it was nearly 2. To gain our Majnu's attention, she choked and stepped out of the dhaba and waited for him. He got up, and having no option, followed her.

"Ah! Mujhe toh aaj chaash peene mei maza aa gaya," Kumud said eyeing and teasing Saras.

Saras just ignored and started walking.

"Tumhe kaisi lagi?" Kumud said, asking him to reveal his secret.

"Mei? Meine kaha chaash piyi thi!" said Saras, quite afraid.

"Accha? Koi baat nahi. Tumne maza miss kar li. Waise tumhaare muh [face] pe kuch laga hai," said Kumud laughing inwardly as she saw the froth of the chaash on his lips surrounding them.

Swaras, terrified, wiped it.

"Woh kahi lag aya hoga. Meine chassh nahi piyi hai."

"Par meine kaha kuch bola ki tumne chaash piyi hai? Ab in sab baato ka time nahi, chalo, bus pe chadho," said Kumud, being happy for getting success.

For the blushy Saras, had no option rather then to lower his eyes and follow his lady love
