Sony's Boogie Woogie trio of judges |
But there's one show that takes the viewer seriously. And continues to entertain without becoming jaded. Sony's Boogie Woogie is holding a Mummy's championship. Even though Boogie Woogie's specials attract considerably lesser marketing hype than the Jhalak Dikkhla Jaas and the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa's of the world, they are usually a treat to watch. This week's episode had a clutch of quintessential middle class middle aged mummies dancing away with vigour to a variety of tunes. And no, the judges weren't rude, didn't make them cry and didn't vote anyone out with impunity. The whole process was sweet, almost homely and the cameras didn't linger irritatingly on the disappointment of the ousted ones. It was a happy contest, and the eliminated pair left with as many smiles as those who made it to the next.
Kudos, Ravi and Naved, for daring to make a decent show, when all others are just bent on capitalising more on human emotions than talent.
