There are a lot of non-performers in the team and Greg Chappel is probably last in the list.

1. The BCCI and politics. Consistent performers in Ranji are not given chance in favor of performers of the past who are not performing anymore. When somebody is given a chance the Damocles sword is always hanging. One bad performance and the person is kicked out. When a player plays under fear, you do not expect the natural play from that person. Playing in domestic cricket is a far cry from playing international cricket and therefore a newbiew must be given sufficient chance to prove himself/herself. Not evcerybody is Azharudding to hit 3 straight debut centuries.

2. Sehwag/Tendulkar/Kaif/Jaffer... The batting lineup is an utter disaster and the entire lineup needs overhowling.

3. Pay policy: The BCCI should adopt the pay-for-performance policy with clearly defined metrics.

4. Lack of money Money in Domestic Cricket: Nothing can replace this long term strategy. The domestic cricket should be made more lucrative/competitive. Better pitches are the need of the hour. We have only a very few international quality pitches (e.g Mohali, Eden Gardens, Wankhede etc.). Rest are very old and still favor spinners which are not the norm elsewhere. Creating more cricket academies and provide more rigorous training to the upcoming stars.

Coach cannot do anything about aby of the above.

Manish, I donot agree fully to it.

THese pressure and money matters were always there. Runji trophy is much stronger. THey have our seasoned players. Here this wonderful coach has been more experimental. Yes it is great to give chance to new blood. But they need serious training before hand.

The batting line up is getting rusty. WHY???? because they are following a strategy of their coach. But the strategy has flaws. so What is the use of executing such experiments right when World cup series is in front of you.

The performance of any team depends a lot on their coach. Even in school, you follow one teacher's method of teaching better then other and the one you understand better, you do better. A child is moulded in a fine person by the coaching . SO if the coach is not upto mark, the team will fall apart.

Yes more training is required but with better coaches and who else can be better coach then our Ex cricketers.
