This was stated in an application filed by Vinay, through his counsel A. P. Singh. Alleging that Vinay had been falsely implicated in the case, Mr. Singh claimed that Vinay and Pawan went along with their friend to a music function at a district park near R. K. Khanna Tennis Stadium in South Delhi.

NEW DELHI: A fast-track court on Tuesday warned the lawyer of one of the accused in the Delhi bus gang-rape case that had it not been this case an "adverse order" would have been passed against him on account of his repeated failure to appear in the proceedings.

Pointing to advocate M L Sharma, who is defending accused Mukesh, additional sessions judge Yogesh Khanna said, "He (Sharma) must understand. It cannot go on like this," adding that due to something or other the prosecution witnesses are called and discharged without being cross-examined on his behalf.
