Tina will call Rashmi Mother...

Very few shows now-a-days reach a milestone of 1000 episodes. Yesterday SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah completed 1000 episodes. Tonight Colors' hugely successful show Uttaran will be completing 1000 episodes. The cast and crew who are working hard during the day, will be partying hard tonight and tomorrow. Today the entire cast and crew of Uttaran including those who had been from the inception will be a part of the joyous celebrations.

Prashant Bhatt, Fiction Head of Colors, posted on his Facebook wall, "Having been associated with Uttaran as its Creative Head, (before I joined Colors) it is now an occasion for double celebration as the show completes 1000 episodes today. Congratulations to the entire team, extremely well spear headed by Pintoo and Rupali Guha by Film Farm India Pvt Ltd."

We asked Tina Dutta who plays the double role of Ichcha (mother) and Meethi (daughter) on the show whether it was a challenge to do so. She said, "We do a chroma shoot on a green background when we do the double roles. Playing Ichcha is far challenging as she is after all a mom whereas in reality I am too young to have a grownup daughter. Fans love Ichcha more as they have seen her character from the very beginning, she has been on the show for four years. Also as Ichcha has more scenes than Meethi, viewers can relate better to her." On Rashami's return she said, "I am very happy that my friend Rashami Desai Sandhu has rejoined. I feel that with her return the show will reach a different level."

Rashami Desai Sandhu in fact has re-joined on the very day that this show has completed 1000 episodes. She said, "I am very happy and excited to make a comeback to the show. Tapasya's character has myriad shades. This time I am returning as a positive character and a mom. I am however missing my dear husband Nandish Sandhu on the show- every corner of the sets of Uttaran is inter-woven with memories of him."

Producer Pintoo Guha also seemed to be overjoyed. He said, "I can hardly express in words how happy I am. Our show is successful as everyone has put in a lot of hard work. Uttaran is unique in itself, nobody can create another show like that." When we quizzed him about the TRP dipping post the leap she said, "Yes, the TRP has dipped at times but has reached a high again." However he feels that Rashami's re-entry will work towards the benefit of the show. He said, "Rashami Desai like Tina Dutta is an integral part of the show. So Tapasya's return will surely give the show a boost. Uttaran will continue with its usual twists and turns."

We wish that Uttaran goes on to complete yet another 1000 episodes.
