If you watch todays episode you'll get the feel that Asad will be at the engagement as well. So it can't be what causes the MU because there is that "baby" scene. So we'll have to wait and see on what happens there.

I actually have an idea that maybe that baby thing, her being all lovey dovey for this fake engagement is what pushes Asad to the edge as he isn't able to handle being engaged to her for just a visa issue when he is so much in love with her. Maybe that's why he says the truth but thrn aggain why would hr standing and looking away from her so coldly while she Is dragged outta his life foteve?

Maybe her overacting spoils the plan and Asad is upset and angry that all their efforts were in vain?
