Chapter 17- Temptations of Feelings

Oh No... Now this is what I had overlooked while realising My love for Arnav -

WHAT SHOULD I SAY TO ARNIE ???

I have been pacing the corridors of the college for the past 15 minutes and almost everyone has
been giving Me weird looks.

Okay Khushi. Calm down. CALM DOWN!

Everyone is in the canteen and I am still here trying to gather the courage to face Arnav.

Just go and sit there. Smile. Talk to everyone.Behave like its a normal day and face Arnav.

Arnav ?!? How am I going to face HIM???

My heart beat has increased due to the frenzy and my palms are clammy with sweat.

But I cant possibly avoid facing Arnav for the rest of My life so I need to walk in to the canteen and act normal.

Taking a deep breath, I entered the canteen and proceeded towards My usual table.

"Hey, Everyone..." I said in a not-so-normal voice.

"Heyloo..." Lavanya cooed while Payal grinned.

Aakash gave a disinterested wave of His hand. What more can be expected from My Awesome Brother??

"Where were You??" Payal questioned curiously and wriggled her eyebrows.

"Ummm...I was-" My answer was cut off by another voice.

"Happiness... You wont believe this.??" Arnav's voice made Me startled.

"Arnie!!" I squeaked in a very loud tone and mentally smacked myself to remain normal.

Arnav was surprised by My reaction to His presence, "What's wrong, Khushi? Do You have a temperature??"

I did not reply for a few seconds because I was drowning in those oh-so-beautiful eyes which I had not noticed before.

"KHUSHI!!!" Arnav's shriek made Me jump in My seat.

"What- Oh -Uh...Nothin- Nothing at all..." I said looking at My nails so as to avoid His gaze on Me.

"HEY... Everyone... Good Morning, My Princess." NK greeted everyone around the table and plopped in to the seat next to Mine.

"Hey NK..." I replied sending a quick Thank You to God for this much needed diversion.

"How is My Princess this morning??" NK cooed.

Before I could speak, Arnav cleared His throat, "Has anyone seen Sheetal?"

"Yeah... She was there for the first lecture with Me... You missing Her?" NK spoke on everyone's behalf.

"Hmm.. Yeah. I am missing Her..." Arnav sighed.

Dang!

Sheetal does not Love Arnav but Arnav is still pining for Her.

Urrghh.. I need to move from here.

"Sorry Guys... I gotto go... Have to finish an assignment.. See You around.."

I walked as quickly as possible out of the canteen before being stopped by a strong pair of hands.

"Khushi!! Wait! Tell Me, What is wrong with You??" Arnav said reaching for My forehead.

Instantly a thousand butterflies attacked My stomach.

"Yeah. Sure. I am Fine." I said suddenly interested in the flooring of the canteen.

Arnav grabbed My chin in his and made Me look up, "Happiness...You are not good at lying...! Why are You avoiding My gaze??"

Without hesitation I claimed, "Arnav, I am in Love." I was waiting for some reaction from Arnav's side but Arnav stared at Me which made Me blush even more.

"And You looking at Me like that is not so good for my heart beats right now." I completed.

Arnav kept on staring at Me as if I had uttered something wrong.

"Urrrghh... Arnie... I will just see You after school today...Please!" I said and walked away without looking behind.

What is wrong with You, Khushi??

I was supposed to confess to Arnav.

What I just did there was utter L.A.M.E !

I will just go and sort things with Arnie... RIGHT NOW!

Khushi's words are ringing in my ears on a loop. And every time those words play, My heart beats like a drum against my chest.

"Arnav... Are You listening to Me?? What about the Basket Ball practice schedule?? Is it put up??" Aakash shrieked maybe for the third time.

"Uuhh... Yeah. Maybe." I replied absent mindedly while shoving my books in to the locker.

"What's up? You don't seem alright." Aakash questioned while getting the Basket ball jersey out of His locker.

"I am in Love. And You looking at Me like that is so not good for my Heart beats right now." I replied dreamily looking at Aakash.

"Huh? Arnie...! Whats wrong with You?? I guess, You need to rest." Aakash said looking around to make sure no body was listening to Us.

I quickly thought over my previous words and My mind understood the mistake suddenly, "NO! I meant, What do these words mean if said by a girl??"

"Ummm... That sounds like a confession to Me. Why?? Did someone say this to You??" Aakash questioned curiously.

"Yes. Your Sister." I replied and looked at Him.

"Khushi?? Then, I think You heard it wrong." Aakash said nodding His head.

Just then Khushi entered the locker room alone.

"Hey Khushi..!" Aakash called out loudly, "Is Your heart beating fa-..."

I covered Aakash's mouth before He could blabber anything else.

"Shut Up, Aakash!" I growled.

"Wow! This situation is now surely getting interesting by the minute." Aakash teased and walked out of the locker room.

Khushi did not speak to Me at all while getting Her books out of the locker and did not even meet My gaze like She always does.

The bell rang indicating the end of college time.

"Hey, Happiness!" I whispered softly making Her turn sharply towards Me.

"Hey, Arnie??" She replied softly while giving Me a small but nervous smile.

"What is wrong, Happiness? Are You avoiding Me??" I questioned directly to avoid any situations.

Khushi stood there fidgeting with Her wrist watch strap and not quiet meeting My eyes.

And to My surprise, Khushi blushed!

My hand automatically went up to Her cheeks and the reaction was phenomenal.

The blush turned into a deeper shade of red.

"Khushi... Are You sure everything is fine?" I questioned looking at the way Khushi's behavior had changed around Me.

"Yes, Arnie."

"Then Why is Your heart beating fast when I am around??"

"Ummm..."

"See, You are not alright." I declared.

"Trust Me, Arnie. I am alright. Just having an internal war with My mind." Khushi excused even though I am not going to believe it.

"What internal war??" I questioned curiously.

"Yes.. But now it's Okay." Khushi assured with a small smile.

"Okay. If You say so... I have Basket Ball practice
for an hour. I will see You tonight after dinner." I said walking towards the changing rooms.

I was just near the door when My phone buzzed.

Text Message from Happiness.

'Arnie... Will You chose Friendship over Love or Love over Friendship?-Happiness.'

I quickly turned to look at Khushi who was smiling at Me.

'I will chose Love over Friendship. Friends are meant to be forever but Love is eternal.-Arnie'

Message Sent.

Khushi read the message and a smile spread on Her face.

My phone buzzed again.

Text Message from Happiness.

'Arnie... I have made My decision... I am choosing Love over Friendship.-Happiness.'

I was stumped because its not like I had no reply but I was not sure what to reply.

Khushi was in Love and she was going to chose Love over Friendship.

I am Her Best Friend and She has never fallen in Love with Me.

Which means NK really beat Me in the war of Love.

This also means a Good Bye to My Happiness.

I think Khushi is in Love with NK.
