Recap- Arnav,Khushi, NK and Aakash arrive at Lavanya's party. Shyam teases Khushi which results in a fight between Shyam, NK and Arnav.Khushi drinks a spiked drink and claims to like NK in her drunken state. Read Further!

Chapter 9- Matters of Heartbreak

17th December 2011

I was absolutely right.

The Party idea was "Plastic" and even more disastrous than I thought.

Somewhere I guess my heart is broken into a million pieces.

After checking out the Party, I realised that I had not checked up on Khushi's whereabouts.

I came out into the living room where Lavanya & Payal were hanging around the Music system.

"Lavanya...Where is Khushi?" I shrieked trying to make My voice heard over the blaring music.

"Saw Her going to the kitchen...10 minutes ago." Lavanya shrieked back.

I walked towards the kitchen and looked around to find no trace of Khushi.

The kitchen was full of people enjoying the party.

I turned around and walked out of the house and onto the porch to witness a swaying Khushi stumbling towards the exit.

"KHUSHI!!!" I shrieked and lunged forwards and simultaneously Khushi fell into My arms.

Khushi wrapped her hands around My neck and buried her head into my shoulder, a gesture which rocketed Me to the heaven but the next word that
She mumbled brought Me back to earth in a crash.

Khushi opened her drooping eyes in a daze and mumbled, "NK."

"No Khushi...I am Arnav." I said lightly while picking Her up in My arms and walking towards My parked car.

When I had settled Khushi in the passenger seat , Khushi suddenly tugged at the hem of my T-shirt and said, "Arnie...I think I like NK..."

My world stopped and crashed on Me along with the depth of those words.

It broke My heart to see Khushi falling in Love with someone else.

I had always been the caring and loving 'Best Friend' and Khushi was always searching for Love in the wrong places.

But I am not going to behave like a martyr in the war of Love.

I will fight till I win the battle and win My Khushi back.

Khushi is My Happiness.

"Water..." Khushi's low hiccup brought Me back to My present time.

I quickly grabbed the water bottle from the back seat and made her drink a few sips.

"I think *hiccup* I am *hiccup* going to sleep..." Khushi said and kept her head on the head-rest.

"I Love You...Khushi." I said suddenly, not quiet drowning the urge to say that.

"I Love You too...Arnie." Khushi mumbled with her eyes closed.

This was her every-day dialogue.

"No... I Love You more than a Best Friend." I said solemnly even though I knew She wont remember this conversation tomorrow morning.

Khushi's face turned into a frown and She opened her eyes softly to look at Me, "Arnav... Why did You not tell this to Me before?"

"Because I knew You saw me as Your Best Friend and also followed that stupid rule which stated 'Best Friends dont date Best Friends'. I did not want to mess up our friendship with You because I did not want to lose You." I concluded My monologue and turned towards Khushi who was already deep in sleep.

Damn.

So much for confessing My Love to Khushi.

I flipped out My phone and texted Aakash about the happenings of the party and also to arrange a ride for himself.

When I parked My car in the drive way of Khushi's house, Aakash was waiting for Us.

"Khushi is drunk??" Aakash said flipping her stray hair from Her face.

"Yeah..Looks like She drank some spiked drink..." I said picking her up in my arms.

"Who spiked her drink?" Aakash growled while banging the door of the car behind Us.

"Someone who wants a broken nose tomorrow. I will ask Her about this matter when She is in her senses in the morning." I said while walking into the house.

"Thanks Dude...Trouble follows Khushi everywhere." Aakash said while closing the door.

"Its fine.I don't mind." I said looking at the sleeping Khushi in my arms.

"Khushi is very lucky to have a Best Friend like You." Aakash said in a serious voice.

"Nah..I am very lucky to have her." I said while walking up the stairs.

"My Sister must be standing with a sieve when God was distributing brains...She cant recognize the perfect love standing in front of her."

Aakash is the one person who knows what I feel
for Khushi.

"I Love Khushi...Just the way She is." I said before walking into Her room.

I placed Khushi on Her bed, pulled the duvet over Her and covered Her properly.

When I turned to go I felt a small tug on My Hand.

"Dont Go Arnie..." Khushi whined softly with Her eyes closed.

"Happiness...Its late and I really need to Go. I will keep checking on You..Ok..Sleep Well.Good Night."

Uh Oh...That reminds Me...I have to go and check up on Khushi.

I am damn sure She must have started writing in her Diary again.

I woke up today morning with a killing head ache with My head feeling like it was going to fall off and throat pricking like thorns.

I tried to remember the causes of my discomfort.

Oh... Lavanya's party.[ ! ]

Oh No... Arnav-NK-Shyam's fight [ !! ]

Oh NO NO... MY SPIKED DRINK [!!!]

Arnav is so going to kill Me..

On cue, The door opened and Arnav entered with a full blown smile and a glass of water along with a Aspirin tablet.

"Good Morning... Happiness." Arnav said while handing Me the glass of water and the tablet.

"Good Morning... Arnie." I said gulping down the tablet.

"How are You feeling?" He said in concern caressing My head.

"I am Fine. What happened last night, Arnie?I dont remember anything. " I said as I pulled the duvet off to see that I was still in my party dress.

"You were drunk...You don't remember drinking anything?" Arnav questioned curiously.

I suddenly remembered the way Shyam had blocked Me in the kitchen and had insisted on drinking something.

Oh No...If I tell Him that MAYBE Shyam had spiked My drink then it will result in another fight and this time I am sure Arnav will kill Shyam.

"Nah! I just drank something to cool off after the stress that You gave Me from your fight. I hope I did not make a fool of Myself by falling in the party." I said suddenly horrified at the thought.

"No...You fell directly in my arms." Arnav replied in a sad voice.

"Oh...Thank You Best Friend. Then what happened? What about NK? How did He go Home?" I inquired curiously feeling sad that I could not spend some time with NK in the party.

"Happiness..Nothing happened...NK reached home safely.You need to clean up and change into something comfortable...I will see You at breakfast..Okay..Hurry Up." Arnav said all in one breath and walked out of the door.

Why is He behaving like that??

Anyways...Now I really need to Go and change out of this lame-attempt-of-Dress-to-Impress-NK...
