Who hasn't heard of this agonizing track? In the vocals of the angry young man Amitabh Bachchan himself, this song describes the pain of being separated from your beloved one. Alka Yagnik also accompanies Amitabh towards the end of the ballad, only to portray the emotions coming from both sides; whereas the music is brilliantly composed by Aadesh Shrivastava. Tune Jo Na Kaha

Indeed one of the most heart-wrenching songs by Mohit Chauhan in New York, after which he became a known name in the music industry. It does not only focus on love that is one sided, but also depicts the feelings of being rather rejected. This song cannot be descried in anyone's words, for the magic is hidden in its prevailing lyrics jointly written by Sandeep Srivastava and Junaid Wasi. The freshness in Chauhan's voice is very much identifiable as he manages to strike his listener's heart from deep deep within.
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna

Although the movie did not manage to impress at the Box Office, it surely conquered a wider audience with its comforting music coming from the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Bollywood's legend Javed Akhtar as the lyricist. Talking of break-ups and separation is very much difficult, forget about how bad it must be going through that phase. The title song of this movie is among those, which for some reason get you attached to an emotion that cries for love, or is lovelorn. To some, break-ups may be very ordinary, but to the majority, the pain becomes a scar for a lifetime. From the violins, to the pianos, Akhtar and the trio used this situation at the maximum advantage to provoke thoughts down the memory lane through the renditioning vocals of Sonu Niigam and Alka Yagnik. Tujhe Bhula Diya
Once started, it was difficult to stop Mohit Chauhan from addressing his possible best to the painful tracks. He lent his voice yet again, for another master piece composed by Vishal-Shekhar in the movie Anjaana Anjaani. With the introduction of their sublime international Sufi backdrop, the song brings out a different touch. And to add to the flavor, melancholic ambience and sarangi tunes are fusioned by Shekhar Ravjiani, which only make the song addictive for the listeners. Once heard, it's difficult to get it off your mind!
Saiyyara

To begin with, Kausar Munir's poetically descriptive lyrics and the voice of Mohit Chauhan in Ek Tha Tiger, were enough to kick start this track to the skies. The burning ballad portrayed that killer feeling of being hopeless and yet in love. This track involves an indian-classical mix to it, and still manages to convey such a sensation that gets your mood to become rather pleasantly sad, as you revert yourself back down the lane of memories with your beloved in a similar way as pictured in the movie. Chauhan does justice to this song, just like his every other venture, and if you miss out on this, then you have surely missed out on something big.
Yeh Dooriyan

Surely we cannot get enough from Mohit Chauhan, who comes back yet again with another masterpiece in the accordance of music composer, Pritam Chakraborty. The track from superhit flick Love Aaj Kal, sticks to it's meaning that love is indeed the same whether it is aaj (today) or kal (yesterday). This sad song knows no boundaries as it expresses the urge of love and longing in any relationship. Although Mohit's contribution plays a great role, it's the orchestral arrangements that bring the real flavor and attraction to this track. If you have just gone through a fight, or a break-up, then yes, this song is all yours.
Tu Jaane Na

Just a single solo track from him is enough to grab the attention of a worldwide audience. Yes, Atif Aslam is one of those singers, whose name is just enough to gain the attention of millions. Making an ethereal presence of romance with pleasant-sounding vocals and impressive wordings, this track focuses on those whose love is not reciprocated. Although that pain cannot be described in words, it is definitely present in this song from the romantic-comedy Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. Pritam adds his musical touch to it, whereas Atif gives his best to another three versions of the same track, among which the "Unplugged version" also featuring the brotherly trio Kailash Kher, Naresh and Paresh, along with Atif, work together to bring an earthy flavor to this magnificent track. Do catch up with this song, for it is one you wouldn't want to miss out on!
Rabba

They say that whenever anyone faces a problem, they turn to their Lord seeking for help. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's soulful voice only adds on to this depressing track from theSalman Khan starrer, Main Aur Mrs. Khanna. The classical touch to this song by Rahat, evokes the pain of separation in a very heart touching manner. It's never happened that Rahat fails to portray his message through his sorrowful vocals. He always manages to makes the listeners feel as though their heart is weeping for love, but there is no complementation to it. One of the best songs by Rahat, filled with pain, only to be heard when one is extremely emotional or saddened.
Jag Soona Soona Lage

Once again we return to one of the best composing duo Vishal-Shekhar, who team up with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan to create a mournful situation in Om Shanti Om. Throughout the song, there is only one type of rhythm used, however that singlet manages to carry out the entire song fairly well. Those emotions of losing a beloved one, or being betrayed in love are all present. Although Richa Sharma perfectly addresses this song in her Punjabi style, Rahat clearly steals the limelight in just the beginning of the song with his instrumental support. This track is all about a man's loss and a man's cry who has lost everything he ever had only in the form of love.
Kahin Toh Hogi

Last but not the least, "Kahin Toh Hogi", a super hit track from Aamir Khan's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was composed by the music god, A.R. Rahman himself. He gave his soul to this album and made it his signature piece. Hence, after listening to this song merely once, you find yourself being unable to hold your grip on it. The guitar strumming followed by the slow beats are a typical Rahman style that you cannot just avoid. This track is surely breathtaking for all the heartbroken ones out there!

I love Tuna Jo Na Kahan nd Kahin Toh nd Tujhe Buhla Diya- they actually break my heart whenever I listen to these tracks
