Alaka for Alakananda

Sonu for Sonakshi

Aki for Akanksha

Vasu for Vasundhara

Suli for Sulakshana

Ira for Iravati

Ammaji for Ammaji

Shan for Shantanu

Abhi for Abhimanyu

Alaka and Shantanu are stunned to see Shantanu's diary in Meera's hand. Meera tells everyone that nobody had any idea that Shantanu was a great poet and the diary was a witness to his great skill. Gauri agrees to this and requests her father to recite a few of his poetries. Shantanu is apprehensive but gives in to Gauri's demand. Meera informs others that Alaka also loved poetries and wrote herself too and that she would also recite a few of her poems. Alaka treis to wriggle out of the situation but is unable to do so. Ira is not at all happy with the situation.

She comes down from the stairs and stands facing Shantanu. Shnatanu starts off by saying two lines to which Alaka replies. Very beautiful lines friends. I wish I could remember them but I was busy listening to them and grasping the meaning. Like this, the two of them continue reciting poerty lines in answer to each other's lines, when Ammaji comes and stops them.

Ammaji asks Shantanu to go and help Yash in making arrangements for the wedding. Shantanu goes away. Ammaji then tells Alaka that the string of her puja mala (tulsi ka mala) has broken and that Alaka should go and re-thread the beads. Alaka nods in affirmative and goes away. Gauri comes and tells Meera that her Father had won the poetry recitation to which Meera states that the contest was not over but was adjourned since Ammaji had called off Alaka from the scene.

Alaka goes to where Ammaji has kept her beads box but finds that the prayer mala is intact. At that moment, Ammaji comes and tells Alaka that she wants Alaka to remember that Alaka's life has changed after her husband's death. Ammaji is herself aware of the predicament of a widow's life but there is nothing one can do. One's husband's death wipes off all the colours from one's life and it is right to embrace the stark whiteness of light after the glow of all other colours that a woman enjoys when her husband is alive. Alaka listens to all these in a pensive mood.

Shantanu is returning to his room when he meets Alaka in the corridor. He assures Alaka that Meera has notunderstood anything since the pages for which Alaka was concerned about, has been destroyed by him. The diary now contains poems and writings from days when he was trying to start a new life. Alaka is relieved but she requests Shantanu not to write anything about the present in the diary which will otherwise destroy their lives. Meera comes to that spot at that moment and Alaka goes away. Meera asks Shantanu whether Alaka was asking him about his poetries. She then tells Shan that she was going to make gauri wear that dress that Shantanu has brought for her.

In her room, Gauri is exercising to some funky music, when Meera comes inside. She switches off the music system and asks Gauri to put on the dress that her Father has bought for her. Gauri tells her that she is not interested in wearing such old-fashioned clothes but Meera insists that it is a traditional dress. Gauri again starts to argue when Abhi comes in and convinces Gauri that she would look great in that dress. Abhi tries to take photos of Meera but Meera refuses.

Abhi goes to the room where the girls are getting ready, he again wants to click photos but Meera shoos him away. He tells Meera that he will be waiting for him …hmmm …

Abhi then goes to where Ira is sitting and praises her. Ira lets him click her fotos.

Shantanu is helping the Panditji sprinkle holy Ganga water in the place where the wedding vows will be exchanged, as Suli and Ira watches on. After water sprinkling is over, the Panditji tells Suli and Ira that in no way should Alaka come to that spot, otherwise it would become impure. Shantanu listens to this and is sad, he thinks that Alaka's only fault is that she has lost her husband and so she has to stay away from every happiness in life, while he was allowed to participate in everything even though his wife has also passed away recently. Suli then tells Ira that during the marriage also, Alaka should not be there, to which Ira informs Suli that Ammaji has already taken care of the situation and has asked Alaka to shift to a room situated in the back of the house. Shantanu is shattered to hear this.

In the corridor, a few servants are removing Alaka's belongings to the other room in the back of the hiuse, when Shantanu meets Alaka once again in the doorway, Alaka clutching Kumar's photo in her hand. She tries to tell him that she has asked Ammaji for the shift since all the cacophony in the House due to the wedding was disturbing her. Shan stops her and tells her that still she hasn't learnt to tell lies, especially to him and that he is well aware of her tears and pain and suffering and that it pains him to see her suffering so much. Alaka tells him that she has forgotten poetry and that she doesnt want to speak about it. Shantanu is woried that its not poetry that Alaka has forgotten but her inability to laugh any more.

Why does Ammaji not allow Alak to go to her maika during the wedding. She was happy there while her she is sad when everyone else is happy.
