In my decade plus viewing of Indian serials (😛), I have not seen this much natural tension between two characters. By natural I mean, without the pushing to the wall scenarios or the forced nok-jhoks. Their story has been written so intricately that the tension was stamped in our faces ever since Kumud walked towards the webcam with her sultry waist as Saras' viewing. She had grabbed his attention way back then. When he came to Ratnagri, all the 'poor' guy had the view of is her back/waist. Some may wonder how someone like Saras-the celibate fall so soon and hard. I say it's way too clear! He's been fascinated by her since he saw that glimpse, he's been intrigued by her since she challenged him to refuse her in front of everyone. Now he's seeing how she is the only person willing to bend backwards, even hurt herself to make him succeed.
The physical desire today was not just from his 'suppressed manhood', it was his emotions of gratitude and amazement which made him act the way he did. If he was simply physically attracted to her, he wouldn't have done anything but the fact is that he desires her physically because he yearns for her emotionally. He yearns for someone who cares about him to this extent, someone who feels the depth of his pain. It's her whole personality which fascinates him and it's so so believable. Saras wants Kumud completely, at least he is beginning to express that.
There is something between them which is beyond their control and that was evident when Kumud despite being disgusted with herself almost went again to see him.
P.S. I saw some comments on about how GR and Jen aren't too comfortable with each other or something?! Not that its really our business but if that awkwardness helps to the tension of Saras and Kumud then I have no issue 😃 Without their onscreen relationship, I wouldn't even know of or care for their offscreen relationship. As long as Saras-Kumud work, it's all good!
