Hi dear, No, Aarti isn't the problem, but the issue is the focus on the family drama is making her character way too preachy than it was before, although she spoke her mind before, but she wasn't seen constantly glorifying her saas and sasur at the drop of a pin! And in fact, I'm not happy with Yash's character either, I had wanted to see him remember Gayatri a bit, esp since he was the one more attached to her, but Prateek and Pankaj look more affected than Yash, its so awkward! These tiny things are becoming too glaring and hard to ignore!
And I'm not saying that PV isn't the same as the old PV we watched, but I'm saying that PV this week isn't how PV normally is - I hope that makes sense!
This is what PV is for me: Yash-Aarti, kids, problems about AarYa in the limelight, family in the background, Akash-Ishita parallel track!
This week: Family in the limelight, AarYa are playing mediators as if the CVs are just making a formality of incorporating them into the story since they are the leads and are on the montage, Ishita scheming throughout the week, getting the maximum footage and irritating us!
Ah, I see where you're coming from now 😊. Based on those expectations, I can see why this might not be the most gripping series of developments...
About Yash...The way that I personally read his behavior in the episode showing the family one month after Gayatri's death was something like this: Yash seems to have learned to remember loved ones through happy memories, rather than by grieving over the fact that they are no longer with him...Sort of a contrast to the way Yash was after Arpita's death...It also looked like a contrast between SP's reaction/behavior one month after Gayatri's death. Yash, because of his experiences with Aarti by his side, seems to have realized that life doesn't stop when someone leaves...and so they're trying to keep moving forward, even when the others may not be doing so as readily...
About Aarti's "preaching" and "glorifying"...Matter of personal views, I suppose...Her words never really struck me as OTT or forced. I've gotten used to the other women being silent at critical times and speaking up when they would probably be better off staying quiet...Aarti is one of the few sensible women in the house at the moment, based on what I've seen so far. Both she and Yash are doing their best to keep things from breaking down - and I suppose that's what Ishita is so mad about.
Well, I still think that this show has always been about the family...Before, it was about how Aarti's story and Yash's story converged, and how two families became one through their remarriage...Yash and Aarti are still a part of that family, arguably the nucleus of that family, holding everything together like they always did...So if they're a part of the family, naturally they're going to be "mediators" and "facilitators" - it just seems more obvious now, I guess, especially now that no one else on their side of the house is doing much at all. The dynamics of family relationships is always going to be there, more so because this is about living in a joint family...That has its own challenges, right? It's a different type of lifestyle, with constant interactions...That said, I think the writers are doing a good job showing "the nuclear family within the joint family" through those Yash-Aarti-Baby scenes in their room.
Thanks for clarifying, Chhavi! 😊 Work calls! See you 'round!
