^yea I do understan their difficulty but can't they help the govt. to nab these criminals...especially when they know so much about them...like tell the govt. where they live n stuff

The indian judicial system is a joke. Sanjy Dutt gets 5 yrs in prison and is not tried under TADA inspite of being an accomplice to the underworld in their nefarious activities. Was he on drugs when they weapons were delivered to his place? It would not take a rocket scientist to figure out that the weapons in the hands of the underworld dons would definitely be used for something malicious. Sanjay dutt ( knowingly or unknowingly) is responsible for the bomb blasts . Had he informed the cops about the weapons, the blasts could have been averted. What is even more outrageous is that Zaibunisa Kazi , a poor single mother with 5 kids committed the same crime as sanjay dutt by storing the weapons and she is charged under TADA and gets life imrpisonment. The sad part is she had no clue that they were weapons but Sanjay Dutt was fully aware and willingly agreed to keep them. Sanjay Dutts friends were also charged under TADA and their only crime was to destroy the weapons at Sanjays behest. Doesn't this prove that Sanjay has been given special treatment right from the start and he truly deserved life imprisonment and has been lucky to get a 5 yr sentence. I have not heard him once in the last 20 yrs admitting that he had made a mistake and apologizing for the bad choices he made. he only talks about how much he has suffered ( again because of his own wrongdoings) and what a nice human being he is. What about the sufferings of the other accused in this case, does it not matter because they come from the not so privileged strata of society ? Do any of the politicians or Bollywood actors have the balls to stand up for Zaibunissa and appeal for her mercy? I bet not...

Government/Politicians are not crazy to nab these underworld goons...

Politicians use to take their help in rioting/land deals/winning any elections...Quite a few movies have shown how politicians and these goon mingle...

If these goons get caught they will definitely open their mouth about these shady politicians...

Excellent article. Glad someone is pointing out the hypocrisy of bollywood in defending their own time and again. If an ordinary guy, or a guy with a Muslim name had been involved in this, all of India would be asking for a lynching. But an elite star gets so much special treatment already, and everyone is saying he is a changed man. Would you accept that about any ordinary person? As this article rightly points out, ordinary people don't get second chances or a chance to do brownie points charity work.
