Chapter 14B: Kuch duriyan, nazdikiyan!
Arjun was still thinking about it and trying to get a clear picture…he replies "koyi badaa shikaar ke talaash mein hai….."
Shree nods, "hmmm"….
Meanwhile, Arjun twirls his pen in his fingers, with his mind in continuous thinking process…."kaun ho saktha hai?"
At the end of his thinking, his mind and lips whisper out the same name "SIKANDAR"

That name made his blood boil….luckily shree had managed to escape by the time the name finally struck his wandering mind…..
Arjun winced in pain from the unhealed wounds that the devil had sowed upon him…..He had been waiting for a chance to avenge him and was behind every clue that could lead him to Sikandar…
The department and especially the commissioner had promised him that the case would be given to ETF and he would be left to handle Sik and settle scores with him….But now, every promise was broken and he was kept away from the mission to nail Sikandar…..
Yes, he was yet to confirm that Aisha's secret mission was to nail Sikandar but his 6th sense and his intuitions never went wrong……It was Sikandar that Aisha was behind! The illegal website, the bids, the ugly traps, every damn thing was to get him into her hold but the foolish girl didn't know the real Sik…..He wasn't so easy… She didn't know that she was playing with fire and she herself was going to get trapped in her games!
Nobody except him knew Sik in and out!… the Bast*** would smell and find out who she was!
He had to stop her……He couldn't let her take this huge risk…..No…Never!
He decided to talk to her and to the team and the commissioner to stop this dangerous mission…….He was confident that he would get Sik even without all these dirty games…..
He kept mentally scolding Aisha for getting into this plan and even more for hiding it from him….how could she think so foolishly? No she hadn't thought over it once…it was her stubborn ego that would have made her accept this…..Why didn't she once think about Pari? His anger soar sky high and if only Aisha was before him, he didn't know what he would have done to her……He was damn angry for having stepped into this risk! It wasn't a mission…it was going to be a suicide of all sorts……and Aisha deserved a tight slap for this, he thought to himself
The whole night, he couldn't sleep…..he was angry, worried, concerned and what not….He didn't understand what hurt him more….was it the fact that he was kept out of this mission or the fact that Aisha was taking a dangerous step which could cause her, her life, her everything!
Obviously Aisha hadn't thought of anything before she took this leap…..she hadn't accounted the losses she would endure during this mission and now Arjun was trying to do it!
He wanted to speak to her and make her realize the grave mistake that she was going to commit…..
If it wasn't so late at night, he would have ended up at her place to talk but now, he had to wait till next morning!
Next day….
Arjun was impatiently waiting for Aisha to step in and she came too but before he could talk to her, a new case was thrown into ETF……a forest officer was brutally murdered by a wandering ghost!
And the team had to pack off to the jungle that very moment…….
All through the drive, Arjun kept glancing to the back seat where she was seated…Luckily for the entire team, Rathod had taken the steering wheel that day! Else a disaster would have been inevitable because each time, she averted his glances, he fumed and it would have reflected in his driving!
She obviously avoided meeting his eyes because of the reasons best known…Something in her told that he had known the secret that she was holding back so far……The best thing was to keep away from him ……
During the entire investigation, Aisha opted to stay with Rathod most of the times just to avoid being in Arjun's company……She knew he was waiting for a chance to bombard her with questions and perhaps even more!
It wasn't such a lucky day, something untoward was bound to happen…….during the search through the forest, Aisha and Rathod are held captive by the illegal poachers and in the process of saving her, Arjun had to say things which would hurt anybody!
It hurt her as well….
She was hurt beyond words and couldn't chase away those emotions, atleast not from her eyes which reflected her heart…..Her eyes spoke volume and he had sensed it also….but why? That was a riddle to him…..
He didn't want to justify himself to anyone just because he never enjoyed doing it….he always believed in doing what his mind told him to do….And at that instant, the only best thing he could do to save her and as a matter of fact, save the entire ETF team was to act that way…..Speak out things that would knock sense into the dumb head guy who was poking his knife into her throat…..
Well why was he trying to justify himself now?? Was it because it pained him as well? Yes may be, it hurt him while saying those words….it pricked him hard when he saw the same hurt in her eyes….
Amidst that, he hadn't failed to notice her accusing glance to his direction……It was clear that the no nonsense cop in her had melted and transformed into a woman that very instant and she had been taken aback hearing such words from him….
Her logical mind knew that he hadn't meant it that way……He only wanted to save that moment! He couldn't panic or let out his weak side in front of those ruthless criminals….but despite all that, her heart felt heavy after hearing such callous words from him…..
"woh meri team ke sirf ek member hai…usske bina main jee saktha hoom.."
Why were those words still echoing in my ears? Why is it affecting me so much? Sacch hi toh bola Arjun sir ne….main sirf unnke team ke member hoom…phir kyun mujhe itna bhura laga??
It just kept replaying in her mind……

It was late night and the entire team had retired to their rooms in the forest guest house…..It was a tiring day and all were early to bed!
But two pairs of eyes refused to shut….two minds were restless and refused to stop reasoning out….two hearts were heavy…..Reasons weren't the same but both were unable to sleep!
Aisha walked out of her room and stood at the far end of the compound….a hidden corner which wasn't frequented by people….Bushes and shrubs lay over grown and unattended…..None dared to come there even during day time….so it was out of question during the night…….
For the same reasons, she chose that secluded place….She yearned solitude that night…..She wanted that serenity and tranquility to calm her restless mind…..She didn't know the reason for that restlessness……His uncaring words shouldn't be affecting her so much….but…..how she wished she had a stop button for her wandering idiotic and stupid thoughts!
She sat there for a few minutes which looked like a couple of hours…..Her eyes closed forcing the tears which were blurring her vision to roll down……
"Aisha….." his husky voice woke her up…..She instantly knew who it was…..
She opened her eyes and jumped up with a startle to stare into his face which appeared void of any emotions…..Well, when did he ever show his real emotions out? She sarcastically said to herself!
Instead she enquired "aap yahaan??"
Arjun couldn't give a specific reply to that because he had come there only for her….he had seen her walking out of the guest house and followed her here….He was worried seeing her unmindful state……he had seen the tears in her eyes as well….But he didn't know how to tell it directly to her…..He had many things to talk to her which also Sikandar!
But he said none of those…..he just managed to reply "itni raat ko yahaan akele kya kar rahi ho Aisha?"
Aisha couldn't help letting out a chuckle before replying "aap se matlab?"
Arjun was annoyed with her reply…how dare she talks like that….he told to himself before voicing out "matlab tumhe samjhaane ki zaroorat nahi hai…"
Aisha: main aapke team ke sirf ek member hoom sir….jeeyum ya maroom, aapko farq nahi padhna chahiye…..so just go away from here…..
He thought to himself "so that's what is troubling you…….I had guessed it right"
When he didn't go away, she spoke again "aap ko samajh nahi aaya…..Leave me alone sir…[he stood there fixed to the ground waiting for her to calm down…..She observed that he wasn't planning to leave her alone…so she added]…ok fine agar aap nahi jaana chahthe….I will leave….."
Saying that, she stormed away into the darkness, into the deep forest…..not relenting to his calls to come back…
Though flared up by her childishness, he was also equally amused by her daring act to venture into the forest all alone during this dark night…well, for someone who wasn't scared of brushing horns with someone like Sikandar, this forest was nothing! [he thought to himself as he walked behind her]
He couldn't let her alone like that…..like Sikandar, the forest was dangerous too!
Marking spots to ease finding the way to return back, he trekked quickly behind her……At a point, he seemed to have lost track of her….She wasn't seen anywhere around!
The pitch black darkness only added to his agony…..he called out, "Aisha…..aise bacchpana matth karo….come back!"
He called out but in vain……She didn't respond to his calls….He knew she must be somewhere around or had she gone too far…..he was confused!
A few minutes of futile search and he looked all around…..but not a trace of her…..
But she wasn't lost…she was there…just near him…..hiding from him behind an overgrown bush…..She didn't want him to spot her…..She thought that he would go back when he didn't find her…..the last thing she wanted was a face off with him at this moment…..but…but destiny had different plans for her….for them…..
She felt some slimy thing touching her shoulders and on closer observation, she realized that it was a big python which was moving from one shrub to another via her shoulders…..good route for the python to take!…..She screamed loudly and stood up that very second pushing the creature away…….
He turned around to the direction from where her scream came and replied back "Aisha….kya hua???"
He rushed to the direction still not getting a clear image of where she was…….
But she, in her frightened state, was too paranoid to think about anything else…She rushed into his arms and hugged him tightly……
The impact of her falling into his arms was too much and unexpected which made him lose his balance and he faltered a bit to the side……both of them were oblivious to what happened after that……
They had lost it completely and slipped deep into something which appeared like a dark hole from which there was no return…..they rolled over and over but remained glued to each other tightly……
They reached the bottom of the pit after a couple of rolls and turns…..he grasped her tightly to minimize the impact of the fall on her….that was the best he could do for her at that moment!
He was on top of her and her head was buried into his chest….His whole body was paining and he knew she would be in the same state of pain as well but he thanked god silently because both of them were still breathing……yes, he could feel her heartbeat!
He parted a bit to look at her….her eyes were closed tightly…… her face showed fear! , Perhaps, the sudden fall had broken the daredevil in her, he couldn't control grinning at that thought!
He spoke up slowly "Aisha tum teek ho na?"
She didn't reply nor did she loosen the grip around him….perhaps she was still in shock….yet in the aftermath of the sudden unexpected fall!
He took all his might and tried to lift himself from her but he felt a stronger force pulling him back…..It was her hold on him….She had tightened her hold around him…….
She hadn't had enough of the closeness they shared in those past few moments….Perhaps she needed that warmth from him, that caring hold from him, the feel of those close touches from him to soothe her of the hurt feeling that his cold uncaring words had caused in her heart…..the incommunicable yet comforting feeling that he cared for her…..
She whispered slowly when he tried yet again to pull apart "kuch dher aise rehne dijiye plzz"
She had managed to speak that but she regretted it instantly….She knew that he would thrash her the very next moment and go away abandoning her then and there…
But what happened was quite the extreme…She was stunned by his response...he didn't throw her away from him but on the contrary, she felt his fingers on her face……initially wiping away the mud and dirt and then a loving caress…….he glided his fingers as slowly as possible to push away her hair which was hiding her face…..her face seemed to glow in the moonlight……
A simple request from her to hold on to her for a few more seconds had created havoc in him….she had no clue what it did to him or rather what it undid in him……It had let loose the ultimate determination in him!
It had triggered a flame of desire….something which had been put off years back when Roshni went away….it was never meant to come back again…he never wanted it but tonight, something had brought alive the man in him…..All his masculine desires seemed to have been sparked off again…..
He looked into her face…..behind the stern serious cop lay hidden a pretty woman and today all he could see was her…..everything else ceased to exist!
"Aisha….apne aankhen kholo…. Mujhe tumse kuch baatein karni hai"
Aisha didn't open her eyes "inn lamhon aur baaton ko adhoore rehne dho Arjun…..I don't want this to end…."
The quick transition from addressing him as "Arjun" instead of "Sir" didn't go unheard by him but he liked the feel of it…..a unique feel of closeness emanated from that!
He didn't ask anything further….questions seemed meaningless at those moments……
Perhaps, they would regret it tomorrow….perhaps this relationship had no future…or perhaps there was no relationship at all….perhaps they would never forgive each other for this….perhaps their whole world would turn upside down or even end tomorrow but at this moment, the only truth was that she wanted him and he wanted her, with the intensity, with the desire that no words could ever explain….
Was it love? Was it lust? Was it fatal attraction? Was it because of the situation into which they were thrown together? Was it momentary?
Questions were many…..but both didn't know the answers…neither did they want to know…..

So my devil is out….. how was it? I hadn't wanted to bring this up so soon but…..i have this strong urge to make them fall in love soon…I know love doesn't happen so soon at our will….so I made them fall into a pit and perhaps these moments take them to the next level in their relationship…..let the dog and cat fights cease and love bloom….I know many of u are staring at me for this drastic turn but I think I have made it as convincing as possible…..even if not, I really had no choice….
