A fellow forum member Swapna made an amazing post a few days back and I would like to quote a bit of it here to give you all the idea of what exactly I wanted to talk about.
"Why should Madhu not move on from RK? What is so great about him? A man who cannot even respect a woman, and insults and humiliates her, strips her of her self-respect at every turn and treats her with contempt and suspicion and takes out his frustrations on her at every turn and forces such an abusive relationship on her. And BTW, that is exactly what it is:
An abusive relationship is where the person abuses, hurts and humiliates the other person repeatedly at every turn and then later says sorry or shows love, only to go back to treating them as dirt again. And that's exactly what RK does.
So, what is wrong if she moves on? Away from RK, alone or with someone else and if she chooses some other guy, then I say good for her.Why is it so wrong for a girl in an abusive relationship to move on?Since the forum consists of more than 80% female population, each of them, being a girl/woman I would have thought people would have more empathy towards another woman's continuous humiliation and degradation in the hands of the very man who has pretended to love her and then betrayed her. All people seem to care about is, how hot the male actor was or how hawt he looks while he is crying or insulting her.
I love the way VD is portraying his char and I appreciate him. But, for me MAdhubala is about char and not actors.
PS: I don't mind RK and Madhubala together if he actually goes through the stages of therapy, realization of his mistake, regret, grovelling or saying sorry and trying to make up for all his humilation and mistakes.
But, till then, I am not interested in Rishbala, period. It is insulting the name of love if they let Madhu get back to RK in the present circumstances"
I couldn't have put it better into words than her. I completely agree with her point of view over this issue and wished that more people would think along the same lines. But sadly, women these days actually enjoy seeing a female lead being portrayed as an inferior and weak character infront of the hotter males. For once, people really need to stop being biased towards an actor's good looks and explore that character's personality ONLY! And if they did, they would realize that RK is not exactly the epitome of a "true lover" or a "good person" . Vivian is doing a great job essaying this role but people really need to learn to differentiate between an actor and a character. If some average looking actor was bagged for the role of RK instead of Vivian, would people still have supported him so much? I'm guessing not.
RK is someone who never even respected his own Mother, then how do we expect him to ever respect Madhu. It doesn't matter that RK is developing a soft corner for his Mother now, it wouldn't undo his actions in the past. And now that he is suddenly trying to keep his Mother close to himself is because he doesn't want to be left alone. Which in a way is really selfish because just like always, he is again only thinking about himself.
I always tell people to not take a show so seriously because it's fiction. But since no one really understands it, I will speak from a realistic point of view aswell. And if we judge this whole situation realistically, I would want to ask all the girls out here that would they want to be with a man and accept him in their lives again after getting hurt, abused, mocked, humiliated and getting stripped off your self respect and dignity at every point in life? Would they really want to have someone like RK as a husband? Because realistically speaking, a couple like that can have no future together whatsoever. And even after all this if the girl returns to that person, she would be very stupid indeed. If Madhu has a little shred of self respect left, she would never go back to RK after all the terrible things he's done to her even if he hangs upside down from a pole and apologizes to her.
A sorry cannot always mend a broken heart, A sorry is not always enough. And a sorry cannot always make things okay. There are some things in life that can never be forgiven. And no matter how much ever RK repents and redeems himself now, his actions have no forgiveness!
Besides, this show is about Madhubala. Her Ishq and her Junoon. Not About Superstar RK. He is just an aspect to the story. The main focus is Madhubala so we should all be unbiased and think from Madhu's point of view, from a woman's point of view.
My question is that what exactly do people want? Do they really want to see RK redeemed and repent for his never ending mistakes or do they just want to see him relishing in his victory of winning Madhu back after all that he did to her? Because lately it has started to look like that all people really care about is a goody goody romance track among the leads despite all the false actions they may have committed. There is much more to a story than just romance between the leads. If that were the case, no show would last for even 2 months!
P.S: Before people start thinking that this is some "Support Sultan" post, I would request them to please read it AGAIN! I am only talking about RK the "character" here based on current events, facts and my opinions. You don't have to agree if you don't want to and it would be absolutely okay. But just once think through an unbiased mind. We all know RishBala are end game but I don't mind Sultan's track because the end game is not everything. The journey that takes us there is what matters the most. And right now, the show is giving us the much needed entertainment in the form of Sultan so why not appreciate the good things we are getting instead of always criticizing? This show cannot only be run by RK. We need other characters too. I am an RK fan and a RishBala fan too, but it would be unfair of me to deny that Sultan and SulBala have the potential to create magic together too and hence, I have a strong liking for this new character. And naturally, I want to see SulBala happening too. But then again, I don't care if SulBala are end game or RishBala are end game, for me, the overall story matters much more than romance!
