Kumud's dialogue to Saras in last episode. Very apt to describe the character on whole.👍🏼
Let's take a look at Saras in sense of relationships he had in life. It is obvious Saras had very strong bond with with his mother. As a child, his world revolved around only her. But he lost her, which he saw as she left him. Later he again saw mother figure in Dukba. But when they went to Dubai, he lost her. Again as per his convo, he did not want to go and asked Desai kaka to not let him go. Again he felt rejected. His step mother, she obviously didn't care and clearly rejected him.
Due to such constant rejection in life, as he said "Maine akele rehna sikh liya he" and "wo pas aane se darta he". Deep inside still little boy craves for love from his mother, pure & genuine care. But given all that took place in his life, makes sense that he is afraid to be hurt and rejected again. As a child such an individual somewhere develops thinking that something is wrong with me. That is why we see him hurting himself every now and then any time someone is harsh to him or rejects him. So makes sense that he doesn't want to get married. Not just due to religious reason alone or that he wants to serve those in need, but this fear.
He is afraid to put himself out there, he has kept himself locked to himself & doesn't share his feelings due to this fear.
HIs unexplained bond with Kumud, jankar of payal has major role in it. He remembered his mother coming to him followed by the voice. So whenever Kumud comes near him, unknowingly he goes back in that state. State where he received unconditional and pure love. That is why he closes his eyes, to fully experience that moment. but once he opens his eyes, reality hits him and he moves back. So he is running away from his true self.
The character is very well written and I must commend writers for this👏 I hope makers exploit this conflict to full potential. GR has sure improved from 1st episode and I wish he continues on the path as character truly has such depth.
