"Rakshak was not only a nice, fun-loving, bright and very energetic guy but he was also Kashish's best friend," he goes into flashback. "The character ended with Charu's death. But I had great time doing the role and enjoyed all the name and fame it gave me." He also enjoyed playing a negative role in Kavyanjali. "It was a grey character that did all the right things in a wrong way," adds Chaitanya who is playing a decent guy in his new show Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye on SaharaOne, which is the story of a very rich business family with six sons and one daughter. "Uday is a very simple chap who is a little shy and reserved. He studied abroad and was away from his family for a few years. He loves his father a lot and on his return he joins the family business," says Chaitanya, refusing to reveal anything further. But he says the role is fantastic. "I have not done this kind of a role before. In terms of concept, story and characterisation Kuch Apne Kuch Paraye is different from the regular and run-of-the-mill dailies." Like Uday, Chaitanya, by his own admission, is also a bit shy and reserved person. "I am not all that extroverted or gregarious kind of guy. But like Uday I also believe in hardwork," says the actor who is an MBA in marketing. Ask him why did he opt for acting despite a management degree, he says while doing his MBA he was bitten by the glamour bug. Acting and showbiz became his obvious choice. And he is happy with his choice. |
