CHAPTER 13

Khushi came from the kitchen with a bowl of soup , while he sat on the bed and noticed her. She came and sat on his left side and slowly took a spoon of soup and blew it to make it a bit cold and brought it near his lips. He while looking at her drank it . She was feeding him , when he asked

"Khushi tumhe ghar nahi jana ???" [Khushi don't you have to go to your home ?]

"Nahi…" she said emotionlessly and started concentrating on the soup , as if suddenly she has found something interesting at the way the soup looked.

Arnav seeing this slowly hold the bowl , took it away from her hand , kept it on the beside table and pulled her near him , making her comfortable and then he asked

"Kyu ???"

"Arnav mai wahan wapas nahi jana chahti…" [Arnav I don't want to go back there.]

"I can understand , but that is your home , that is your family and you have to go back to them , or else they will think , you have been kidnapped again."

She rested herself beside him and kept her head on his chest and said

"They will not , coz maine aamma ko phone kar ke bata diya hai ki , mai…"

"Kit um yahan rukne waali ho ???" [That you are gonna stay here ? ]

"Haan !!!"

"Toh aunty ne kuch nahi bola ???" [So aunty didn't say anything ?]

"Nahi maine amma ko yeh bola tha ki mere ek dost ka accident hogaya hai…" [No I told aamma that one of my friend has got into an accident.]

"Hmmm"

"Yeh sab chodho tum mujhe yeh bataao , aagar mai yaha tumhaare saath rahi toh tumhe koi problem hai ???" [Leave it.. just tell me , if I stay here with you , do you have any problem ?]

"Khushi I don't have any problem , as tum waise bhi itne din yaha thi , bas iss bar laptop aur phone ke facility ke saath rahogi…. But still Khushi tumhe aapne ghar wapas jana chahiye , coz your place is there with you family , not here…"

"Oh really ???" she said in his tone and continued "Tum mujhe family ke upar gyan de rahe ho… toh tum yaha kya kar rahe ho… tumhe bhi toh aapne family ke saath rehna chahiye.. isn't it ???" [You are giving me lecture on family , then what are you doing here , you should also stay with your family , isn't it ?]

"Ya I know , and I will be going back to Shantivaan tomorrow ."

"Permanently ???" she asked making it confirm..

"Khushi !!!!" he sighed …

"Permanently or not ??? otherwise I am not going anywhere Arnav…"

"Ok fine PERMANENTLY …"

"That's like a good boy , I mean a good businessman …." And with that she kissed him on his cheek.

He looked at her raising his eyebrow , while she said

"Kya ???"

"Kuch nahi…." And he smiled…

"Waise Arnav mujhe aur uss ghar mein rehna aacha nahi lag raha hai, bauji ko dekhna , kyunki unko dekhte hi mujhe bahut takleef hota hai… as I used to love him a lot…." [Arnav I am not liking staying there anymore.. as it is hurting , seeing Bauji is hurting me as I used to love him a lot…]

Arnav sighed and said

"Khushi forget it , move on , unhe maaf kar do…"

"No Arnav , I cant mai unhe kabhi maaf nahi kar sakti.. unhone jo kiya hai uske liye.. unhe maafi nahi mil sakti kabhi nahi… tum itne aasani se kaise keh sakte ho…" [He can' t be forgiven , for what he did is unforgiveable and then how can you even say..]

"Khushi parents ka naa hona kya hota hai… that I know very well , I know its hard , but someday or the other you have to forgive him…"

"No , I will never be able to forgive him … Simply Never ever…."

"Khushi ???"

"No Arnav… no way.. aur waise bhi he deserves this punishment… at least… u didn't send him to jail… and all , so he deserves this much…. "

"Khushi…"

"Nahi Arnav…. Leave it… Ok tell me one thing…"

She said raising her head and facing him , while he with his eyes asked her to continue

"Tumhaare saath permanently rehne ke liye mujhe kya karna padega…." [To live with you permanently what I have to do ?]

He looked at her questioningly not getting what she was speaking and she said

"Haan Arnav , I want to stay with you, coz I cant stay , or rather I cant live without you anymore , yeh 1 din kaise maine kaise bitaya only I know…"

"Khushi…." He said softly and she again cutting him said

"Cmon , Khushi khushi khushi.. bolna bandh karo aura age bhi kuch bolo…." Arnav chuckled and said

"Tum mujhe aage bolne kaha de rahi ho…" [You only are not allowing me to speak na..]

"Oops" and he smiled at her and continued

"Khushi maine kaha na ki tum mere saath jee…" and cutting him she said

"Jee payungi aur mujhe tumhaare hi saath jeena hai , rehna hai , woh 3 saal mujhe kuch pata na hone ke karan maine waste kar diye hai , par aab aur nahi……." [I will be able to live… those 3 years I have wasted because I didn't knew but now no more.]

Arnav looked into her eyes and saw the love that he has been dying to see from past 3 years and smiling a bit he said

"Thik hai , then marry me…. And YES bolne se pehle soch lena.. ki tum kya karne ja rahi ho…"

Khushi hearing that Marry me looked at him and smiled coz like every girl she also had a dream that one day she will find her prince charming who will come riding in a white horse and will take her away from all the bad things of the world. Surely he was not the one who was going to come in a white horse , but he was her prince charming , though his entry was as Mr. Kidnapper , but still he was , the way he used and he still loves her was more than enough for them to last till their last breathe , and she knew this was the MAN she was searching for all this time. And finally when he was near her , within her reach how can she let it go , she knew he will always protect her from all the bad things , all the sorrows of the world. So what more was needed , there was everything she wanted in him and so there was no way of telling a No to him .

She looked down and slowly snaked her fingers with his and bringing up their entwined hands looking at it once and then looking at his face once smiling all brightly she said

"Soch liya… I want to marry you Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada… and it is a YES for you forever , but … I have a condition."

He smiled hearing her speak but then frowned hearing about the condition thing and asked

"Condition ???"

"Ya condition… that you have to propose me in a well way , not like this…you have to do it by going down on your knees……. Ok ???"

Arnav smiled at her demand and said

"Deal !! waise tum chahogi toh mai apna pura life tumhare samne kneel down ho kar gujaar dunga…….." [And if you want I can spend my full life by kneeling in front of you]

She instantly said

"No no puri life kneel down hokar guzarne ki jarurat nahi hai…. Coz phir mai tumhe hug kaise karungi aur tumhara chest par aapna sir rakhkar tumhari heartbeats , jo mere liye chalta hai.. unhe kaise sunungi…. By the way mujhe pa mujhe pata nahi tha kit um jaisa businessman bhi itna romantic ho sakta hai……." [No no need of spending full life like this , then how will I hug you and your heart beating for one and only me… btw I never knew that businessmen like you can also be romantic]

And hearing this both laughed.. and then lied back when she asked in a serious tone

"Par Arnav tumhara accident hua kaise ????"

He remained silent and Khushi continued

"Pata hai aaj subah mai jab uthi toh I was so excited , thinking ki mai tumhe sab kuch bata dungi , eve n see I dressed for you , maine Google kiya tumhare main branch ka address nikala and then I went to the office with a hope that I will find you there…. I was searching for you when who tumhara manager…" [You know today when I woke up , I was really happy thinking that I will tell you everything and see even I dressed for you.. I googled and found out your main office address and reached there and was searching for you when your manager ]

"Aman" he cutted her and she continued

"Haan uss Aman ne aakar kaha kit um do din se office nahi aaye ho aur tumhara phone bhi switched off hai… maine yeh socha ki kahin tum bhi toh kidnap nahi hogaye.." [Ya when that Aman told me that you have not come to the office for two days and that even your cell was switched off , for a minute I thought whether you have also been kidnapped by somebody.]

And he chuckled , while she continued

"Par uske baad mujh kuch yaad aaya… tumhare diary mein , tumne aapne diary mein likha tha na , ki tumhaare jeene ka sirf 2 reasons tha , pehle tumhari Di aur unki khushi jo unko mil chuki thi Ananya mein aur dusra tumhara revenge bauji se jot um le chuke the aur mujhe laga kahin tum suicide toh nahi…." [But then I remembered reading in your diary that you lived for 2 reason one for your sister and other for your revenge and since both were accomplished no , so I thought you wanted to do suicide.]And with that she shievered a bit.

Arnav hold her tight to himself and whishpered

"Khushi mai itna bhi coward nahi hoon ki mai suicide kar lunga aur phir mere jeene ki ek aur wajah toh wapas aa gayi thi na… toh mai aise kaise maar sakta hoon ……."

"I know Arnav par bure bure thoughts aapne aap aa jate hai…." And he nodded while she continued

"Aur phir mai jab bahut muskil se yaha aa pahuchi toh mujhe charo oor sirf khoon hi khoon dikha , jo dekhkar mai aur darr gayi , I know I am a doctor and life mein pehli bar , mujhe aaj khoon dekh kar darr laga , tension hone laga , I searched in your room , but you were not there… phir maine jab tumhe iss room mein paya toh dil ko thoda chain mila ad when I saw your wounds I understood that you got into an accident par , yeh accident hua kaise…." [And after that when with great difficulty reached here and found blood everywhere I got more scared , but then I found you and saw your condition I understood that it was because of some accident , but how did the accident happened?]

Arnav was still silent and she slowly hold his hand and made him face him and said

"Please Arnav.. batao yeh accident kaise hua ??? Please." Seeing her pleading like this Arnav said

"Khushi who…."

"Haan bolo…."

"Who actually tumhe drop karne ke baad mujhe bilkul aacha nahi lag raha tha , so I came back home and switched off my cell , so that no one disturbs me." [Actually after dropping you home I was not feeling like doing anything , so I came back home and switched off my cell]

"Hmmm" she said and asked him to continue , and he did

"Jab ghar wapas aaya , everything , every dam thing was haunting me with your memories right from the hall to the kitchen , to your room , to my room , I knew it that you were gone , gone far away from me again and this time again I have lost you , I tried sleeping but nothing helped and so getting fed up I got hold of the car keys and went for a long drive at night "

"I went on a long drive and while returning back in the morning for being foggy and my reckless driving as well as because of feeling sleepy , I got into an accident , after that some how or the other I drove back home and then after coming into this room I lost my consciousness ."

She hearing all this cupped his cheek and said

"I am so sorry for leaving you like this , I promise I will never leave you again I will be there by yourside forever…."

"Ssshhh…. Khushi its ok !!! tumhaari koi galti nahi hai , you have not done anything wrong , it was my fault , both the time I let you go…."

Khushi knew that this topic was going to go on and on , so she decided of changing the topic and said

"Ok job hi hai , lets leave it , mujhe bahut bhuk lagi hai , so lets go and have the dinner…"

And he nodded and both went to the dinning table to have their dinner .

It was almost 11:45 at night when Shashi Gupta came home. He came and went infront of Khushi's room to peek into it and see her sleeping , but seeing her not there he opened the door to a full and got inside the door . There was no sign of her , he came outside and went towards Garima's room to find Garima sleeping all alone . He knew these were the only two places she sleeps , but she was not there in both , so he went out and called all the servants and asked

"Khushi kaha hai ???"

And one of them replied

"Woh Khushi didi subah se bahar gayi hue hai… abhi tk nahi lauti…"

"Kya abhi tak nahi lauti ???"

"Nahi sahab…"

"Woh gaari lekar gayi hai ????"

"Sahab who Ram Singh unko lekar gaya ha par who toh wapas gaari lekar kab ka aagaya…"

"Ram singh ko bulao abhi………" He shouted and that servant went out to call the driver from the servants quarter.

"To all , his anger seemed a concern for his daughter Khushi , but it was not at all concern , it was something else , something else that nobody understood except him."

Within few minutes the servant came with the driver and the driver folded his hands and asked

"Sahab kya hua hai ???"

"Khushi kahan hai ???"

"Khushi didi woh toh… who abhi tak wapas nahi aayi ???"

"Wapas nahi aayi hai tabhi toh puch raha hoon.. kaha hai who ???" shouted Shashi making everyone shiever in fear.

"Who toh humne unko subah unke dost ke ghar ke bahar chodha tha.. unhone kaha tha ki who aa jayengi baad mein…"

"Dost ???? kaun si dost.. aur tum mujhe abhi waha le chalo…"

"Ji sahib…" and with that he drove him towards Arnav's apartment in the posh society , located at the other end of the city.

The driver stopped the car in front of the building and Shashi looked at the building and tried to remember if any of her friends stayed here , but he was not able to remember . He looked at the driver and asked

"Khushi ne koi naam bola kisi dost ka ???"

The driver thought for a while and then said

"Haan Sahab , Khushi didi kuch Arnav , Arnav bol rahi thi.. par pata nahi…."

"Arnav ???" Shashi asked a bit confused and ooked at the building once more and then got down from the car and went inside the building and directly to the letter boxes and started searcing and finally found what he was searching. He saw the name and returned back to his car and getting inside asked the driver to take him back home , while he muttered to himself

"ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA… par who Khushi ka dost kabse bana.. aur Khushi uske yaha kyu… aur uske saath………"

There on the 17^th floor in Arnav's apartment , in his room , in his arms Khushi was sleeping peacefully , without having any hint about the upcoming storm , which will not only just shake away her base , her trust but will break her hearth and everyother thing.

I know you guys will be saying again cliffhanger and all , but cant help the suspense will be going on now... So u have to bear it.
