Do you think Rashi realises that she cannot be like Gopi - an ideal DIL and a good person?

Do you think that Rashi has finally come to terms to what her abilities are, that she can never be like Gopi?

Even though Gopi has pushed her into a corner to make her realise that she has to accept her mistakes that she cannot behave outside who she really is. It seems what she wants is to overcome it herself, in her own way.

At the same time, she has this deep bond with Gopi where she cannot allow the very worst to happen to Gopi, hence her saving Gopi from drowning.

Do you think that there is more to it than meets the eye when it comes to Rashi?

Swasthi, however much I try to see Rashi as being 'good at heart' just wrongly influenced, I cannot.

IMHO, Rashi always knew that Gopi was a better person than her. That formed the basis of her jealousy and her hate towards Gopi. But Rashi is also smart enough to identify that Gopi is useful to her.

In her own house before Marriage, Rashi and Urmi always managed to make sure that any of Gopi's goodness went unappreciated or worse scorned as foolishness But after marriage, if Rashi had not known about Gopi's goodness and her sincerity, she would never have tried to ruin Gopi's work at all times.

Even now, a small praise to Gopi hurts Rashi only because Rashi knows that she can never match Gopi.

The fact that no one expects her to be Gopi is lost on her because unknowingly Rashi wants to be Gopi's equal. Her "these grapes are sour" attitude when it comes to Gopi is a proof of that fact.

Rashi has been really lucky to get inlaws who like her as who she is.. childish, pampered, selfish and lazy.

All they want her to do is be truthful and help around in the family. The acute jealousy of wanting what Gopi has, both real and imaginative, drives Rashi to do what she does. She wants to be Gopi without actually being one. She wants to be praised without putting an effort. That is what is pulling her down.
And when she finds herself not in the same range as Gopi, she tries to reach there by deceit, lying, tantrums and manipulations.😭

Rashi's bond with Gopi is one of love-hate.. Rashi needs Gopi. She knows she cannot survive in MM without Gopi because she is afraid that the original Rashi who Gopi knows is not someone others in MM will like. She has pretended so long that to keep up her pretense, she needs Gopi. Hence her help when Gopi is about to die.
As long as Gopi is there, Rashi knows that she can escape and not change.

Just my PoV😊

Thank you all for an interesting discussion.

This was not an easy one to unpick as it was either black or white and nothing grey.

We know what Rashi is made up. She has made no attempt to redeem herself. She has explicitly told Gopi that she will remains who she wants to be. She has every intention of doing just what she wants and will not adhere to Gopi's requests / wise words.

When this discussion was brought up this dialogue was between Rashi and Gopi. Now Kokila has made it absolutely clear with what she thinks about Rashi to Rashi with Hetal and Baa present, who did not oppose Kokila for her reprimanding. This reprimanding was a taster of the actual moment should we get to see it in the future.

Rashi's buffer has always been her mother. This new spoiler is more of the same from the past. The reaction from Kokila or support from someone else will matter what the outcome of this. Otherwise this will continue to be a cat and mouse game with no definitive end to it. It is this that could drag the overall beautiful story of the show down.
