BTW, how did the dad (LN) know that Kumud is the one to break his vow of priestlyhood? He has seen the patlee kamariyah too? Mr Perv, eh?

So the mom thinks a pair of Ghingoor will be outrageously insulting gift when Kumud is in competition for backless bikini tops with Guman,eh?

Is that R enough?

Very R. Thank you for spicing things up Sabrina. The anklets are what Gauman would wear to dance for men and so when Laxminandan probably left his wife for a dancing girl - VC called her out meanly. Now she wants to remind VC and make him feel helpless by branding them on Kumud. It is a symbolic way of making a humiliating point.

Thanks Mary for the reply...
Yes... I figured that's what the anklets meant... But the whole thing so 19th century... Don't misunderstand me .. I am enjoying the show... The landscape, the colors, symbolism, intensity o feelings ...watching a daily soap that has the flavor of a big screen movie... All fantastic...

But then there is the other side of me who thinks synically, the side that's jaded by IPK..
Now seriously... The moms plot to sideline the step son is to make him a priest !?!?!? I would just get him hooked on drugs or something... Who prefers being a priest, even the Pope abdicated.. He couldn't take it anymore...
And the son, who grew up in Dubai and probably studied abroad (? Howard anyone) has never dated, forget dating ... Is totally smitten by a patlee Kamariya.!?! The intensity they are feeling (Samud) is well acted out... But the premise leaves me cold... Who falls for only eyes ( forget the freakish eyebrows)? As khushi would say " hum nehi understand"
Ghoongroo... A sign of humiliation, maybe during the time period when it was written but not in his century... Either stick to the century or turn it into Leonardo Decaprio gun trotting Romeo & Juliet...

Sorry, I spoke too much... I guess I saw Richard Armitage and thought I can open up to you... Gawd, the months I spent fantasizing about Thornton till I Found ASR... Still watching SC since other shows are blah too...

Surprisingly, it is very 'today', believe it or not. While that scene about ghungroo reminded me of the movie Chandni, where Sridevi is gifted a pair as snub and an insult, it is also a demeaning symbol today. yes, not as commonly perceived a demeaning sign as before, but still is. I recently heard the words 'kotha' in a positive connotation, and was shocked. So, yes, things are very different now, but some values run deep and keep running ...

That said, I agree, I woulda just got him hooked on drugs, had I been as vicious as Guman. But I feel there's more to teh story.

I realize this is an Indian soap, and I realize I will offend many sensibilities, but really ... it woulda been so much spicier and with very high 'ewww' but 'whoa' factor if she did have the hots for Saras ... I mean, well ... I'll leave it at that ...

Hi S.. Thanks for the reply.. Ghoongroo...hmmm.. Perhaps you're right... I didnt see Chadni but did see Pakeezah... Took me a long time and a bit of growing up to realise that dancing girls / kotha walis belonged to high priced escort serives... Fair enough... I accept your point...

Also what choice do I have but not to accept when It comes from Armitage lover " everyone just pretend to be Normal" lil miss sunshine😉

Eagerly waiting for hot mama to land in that museum size house and walk sideways while her eyes r fixated on the camera...but hay she looks too hot for me to be too bothered... Maybe she will reveal something ( other than her torso)... Some clue to the secrets maybe... I was getting tired of " I will see her face"... Just get a visor with mirrors or something.. That's what we did in 5 th grade to spy on the people sitting behind us😎

Thanks for the nice convo... S and Mary..
Sabrina
