I am strong because I have been weak, I am brave because I have known fear, I am wise because I have been foolish, I can know love because I have known pain.
Yash needed to break things and hurt himself...Yash needed to run away from the vicinity of the person who reminded him of betrayal...Yash needed to go to a boxing ring and put his life at stake in order to get answers and let the remnants of his pent-up-emotions regurgitate and then calm down. He needed to let loose the lava before he could sit back and take cognizance of what he had burnt...who he had hurt the most. Is it any wonder then that Yash knows, out of everyone there, what exactly is brewing within Aakash and Gayatri? What kind of catharsis they need? He knows there's a hot caldron boiling inside them...and if they do not pour it on someone, it would burn their insides. This is what he tried to tell Aarti, when she gave in to her own angst at seeing him suffer unnecessarily, and questioned his patience and goodness. She named Aakash in her statements, so he answered for Aakash...yet he also meant Gayatri when he said that the bottled up anguish needs a way out and once that is done, everything will be normal.
Yash is also being the shadow warrior for Gayatri. Just as he understands that the actions of Aakash are nothing but mere reflection of what his brother suffered at the hands of higher echelons of society, he also knows that his mother would be a lone fighter for Aakash's cause if he didn't lend out a silent hand and be the back-up she so obviously needs for the battle she has begun for Aakash. His actions are directly proportional to the values Gayatri has instilled in him...her upbringing. Isn't it ironic then that Gayatri is herself putting that very upbringing in a circle of dubiety and questions, in her zeal to give more cognizance to blood? Yash understands his mother. He understands that at the moment she is probably suffering more than himself, having taken blows on dual fronts. He understands that she is battling to understand the betrayal of a husband of thirty-eight years and to come to terms with the sudden appearance of a child who too was wronged because of that betrayal. At the moment, Yash finds his own grief, his own trauma, his own pain born out of Gayatri's bias very small in front of his mother's heartache and angst. In his own way he is trying to ensure that the spark in Gayatri's repertoire of sufferings doesn't flare up and turn into a raging fire...the fear of which SP had already expressed to him. The ambers are more likely to simmer down if they are not stirred...but if they are incited and provoked, they might throw up flames of destruction. Yash is trying not to offer that provocation.
Gayatri picked up the gauntlet when her maternal feelings for Aakash awoke on hearing of the trauma he went through all his life because of the stolen identity. The wrongdoing made her realize her own fighting prowess...she understood her own strength. These very feelings have given her courage to pick up the cause of a wronged wife as well. As long she was only the wronged wife, she took the blow on the chin but kept quiet after expressing her displeasure. But Aakash's cause has pushed her into fighting back...as a mother, yes...but also as a wife. So far so good...but where she is going wrong is that in her unidimensional frame of mind she is hurting the very son who is being the champion of her cause. She understands what she is doing...she is fully aware of her biased and unjust reactions...but what she does not understand is that in trying to assert her authority, she herself is bringing it into question. Earlier even if she would go wrong with her commands, the sons and bahus still gave her her due...because her morality and ethicality were not compromised. However, that's not the case now. In trying to do right for one, she is deliberately doing wrong for the other. The lack of balance in her actions is reflecting on the reactions of people around her, and now her actions are being questioned. First to do was Radha, who pointed out that her mamta had weakened. Then it was Pari, who minced no words and said she was being stepmotherly. Vidhi's feelings came out loud and clear when she said, "Her blind love for Aakash is causing so much distress. Can't mummyji see what wrong she is doing to Yash bhaiya?" And today, Aarti questioned her principles on her face, with some very valid counterquestions. If today Gayatri finds her bahus question her actions, it's because she has taken a fall from the pedestal they had unquestioningly put her in, given her status and given that she had done nothing till now to taint that status. The day she let her rigidity overpower her sense of righteousness, she took a fall...just as her husband has because of his inflexible stance and still-held ego.
Gayatri's actions and reactions vis-a-vis her husband are moot at the moment. If she is right in stopping SP from raising his hand on Aakash, given he has still not acknowledged him as his son, she is not entirely right if she makes a public mockery of the man who has given her so much in her life. Somewhere that reeks of giving an eye-for-an-eye attitude...There are better ways for a wife to wage her battle without putting all the other relations and family's reputation at stake. Aarti was right when she mentioned, "You taught me, yet you forget your own lessons?" When Aarti brought out the Aakash truth, Gayatri was the first one to admonish Aarti for making a public spectacle of it and had reminded her of her duties. Now, Gayatri is resorting to same thing by calling for a "Bhoj."
Also, somehow she is avoiding anyone referring to Yash as her son...just so it doesn't weaken her resolve.
I had mentioned once that for SP to face Gayatri again, Gayatri herself will have to take an equally greater fall...and looks like she is heading toward it!!
I am holding up on Ishita at the moment. She is after Yash ...period. He was after all her chosen one. In her mind she has reserved a separate place where only she and Yash reside...together. She is obsessing after him and sees Aakash and Aarti as some kind of add-ons. As far as she is concerned, Aarti is the other woman. That's why her blood boils when she sees Yash cozying up with Aarti. Why is the beginning of this venomous jealousy making me afraid for Aayu???
That's it friends. These layered portrayals of relationships are making the whole show very fascinating to watch. No one is perfect. When chips are down, the cracks are being seen in the magnificence of the Scindia aura. One can be humane and human at the same time...if only SP and Gayatri learn this from Yash and Aarti!!!
Have a nice day.đ
