Chapter 31

But Shaina knew what Riya was asking, so she replied, "No Riya, nothing happened. When Simran released me, i immediately went to see a doctor, who's a very close friend of mine, and had some tests done to see if i had been raped or not! But hopefully except drugging me, they never did more!"

She realised that everyone were holding their breaths, and when they heard her saying no, all were relieved. She looked at Rathore's face, and he was also relieved, however there was something else also in his eyes.

"That Simran, let me get her! i'll..." Arjun started, to be stopped by Rathore.

"Nahin Arjun, let me tackle this one! She thinks i have lost my memory, and she wants to be back in my life! She has incriminated Shaina very well, unless we get some solid proofs, we'd never be able to prove Shaina's innocent! I'll have to befriend her again!" Rathore said, and watched a wave of terror and jealousy go over Shaina's face.

"Why does she care so much about me? And why did she lie when we both have known each other for so long?" he thought to himself. But for the time being, Shaina's freedom was more important, after this case, he'd take Shaina away for a few hours and ask her everything out.

"Theek hein Rathore, but be careful! I very much doubt that two times she'll fall in the same trap, but we have nothing to lose!" Arjun said.

"Team, me and Riya will go to the hotel to investigate, while Shree check all the CCTV footage of that shopping mall again, now that we know Shaina was drugged and carried out, and we know Simran's implication in it, maybe we can get something out. And also please collect the Hotel's cctv footages also. And you Chotu, try and find out more about this Simran. If she's really so cheap, she must have a very heavy past behind her. i want everything on her!" Arjun ordered everyone.

"Sir, i think i'll stay here itself with Shaina, and try to gather further information from her, and then i'll also dig out better about Simran's past, and cross-check everything on Yashveer also, and how come he was released from the jail and when. I'll also help Shree in checking their call records," Riya suggested, not wanting to stay with Arjun at all for the time being.

Arjun looked at Riya very coldly after her little speech, "I'm the chief till now Riya! So you better follow my order!"

"But Sir, i'll..." Riya started, but never finished when she saw Arjun glaring at her. But fortunately for her, Rathore took her part, "Arjun, she's right! Someone has to dig about Yashveer also, and maybe Shaina has lots of other information to give us also."

Riya mentally thanked Rathore and went away from the interrogation room. She had barely walked out of that room, when she felt her hand being grabbed. She looked to find an angry Arjun looking at her, she let herself be dragged to Arjun's room.

When they reached his office, he pulled her inside and made her sit on a chair, and leaned on the chair stopping any escape from her. He glared at her and asked her, "What's the meaning of this insubordination?"

But Riya was way angrier than him, and she hadn't liked at all what Arjun had told her earlier, so in her anger she replied back, "Sorry Sir, i didnt mean any such thing! I was just saying not to forget the Yashveer's lead at all. Maybe we can get lots of clues from his side also!"

"Dont ignore my question Riya!"Arjun barked at her. He knew he was wrong, but his ego was preventing him from saying sorry. and when she had said she didnt want to go with him, his guilt had transformed into anger. He only made a little mistake, why was Riya being so harsh on him for that.

"Sir, i dont think we should waste time right now! Shaina's innocence is way more important!" Riya said and tried to get up. But Arjun didnt move at all, thus she had to drop her body again in the chair, waiting for Arjun's outburst. She didnt understand him, one he was wrong and had hurt her, yet he was acting as if she was wrong. She couldn't prevent her eyes from getting wet.

Seeing those unshed tears in her eyes, Arjun soon forgot all his anger. He knelt down and said, "Dekho Riya, let's just forget what happened earlier!"

"What let's just forget what happened? It's so easy for you nah! First to insult a girl and her love, and now say let's forget everything!" Riya shouted at him, not believing that he wasn't going to ask sorry at all.

"Dekho Riya, now you are exaggerating! Nothing happened that you are so angry with me!" he replied back a bit irritated. "Gosh, why are women so complicated" he thought to himself.

Riya looked at him with surprise in her eyes, he was such an arrogant and proud person.

"I dont believe you! You claim to love me, and it took you only one second to doubt my love and every girl's intention, just because you saw some pictures!" Riya said.

"So will you drag this issue for how long now? Typical girls!" Arjun said under his breath, however Riya heard every word her uttered.

Now tears were falling from her eyes at his cold words, she tried to get up and ran away before she broke completely infront of him. All she had been expecting was a simple sorry, but on the contrary now it was as if she was the wrong one.

He hated when she cried, he tried to take her face in his hands, but she bent backwards so that he couldn't touch her, "Let me go!" Riya said in a soft voice.

"Riya, why are you doing this after everything we have been through. After all the lovely moments we have passed through, after that night!" he said and tried to take her face in his hands again, but she again avoided his touch.

She pushed him away from her, and stood up, "It's good that nothing really happened that night. I need some time!" she said, and turned to leave.

Arjun felt his heart stopping to beat when he heard those words, and without realising it, in an attempt to hurt her back, he replied venomously, "Only because i stopped! Otherwise you were more than willing..." but before he could continue, Riya had taken one glass of water and thrown it on his face.

"Maybe this will cool you down a bit, and make you rethink what you were going to tell me just now!" she said angrily, and crying she ran away from his cabin.
