"The marks humans leave are too often scars."
? John Green,
Life is nothing without pain. Almost everyone experience some kind of pain, whether painful or minor, in their lives. A pain of loosing your first teeth, a pain of giving birth, a pain of seeing your loved one going far away from you, a pain of lost memories...in short we need pain in order to move on but what if that same pain holds you back? What if that same pain reminds you again and again what happened to you or worse what will happen to you? How do you take that pain and remove it from your life forever?
The truth is you can't. When pain becomes unbearable, it makes you feel suffocated makes you want to end your life hoping that will take the pain away but nothing of that sort ever happens. That same pain, however painful, will be transfer to the next person closest to you. The circle of pain never ends. So what should we do then?
Just live with it I suppose and just hope that maybe just maybe this unbearable pain that I speak of might go away. That maybe someone will help me get through it. That maybe talking to someone, finding solace from someone will help. But hey, who am I kidding? Life is not perfect but this pain is. This pain always kept me grounded and just when I thought it was gone it hits me with another unbearable pain making me question, why did I ever think I was going to be happy?
Will this pain ever go away?
A car comes to halt. The women behind it hit her head on the steering wheel due to sudden force. "Great. Just how I needed my night to end." The woman got out of the car, walking around it to find the cause of the problem. She kicked the flat tire in annoyance and anger. Barking and crying was heard from inside the car. The woman sighs and opens the back door to let her dog "Korra" out.
The dog sits outside the car like a watch dog while the woman hold the baby girl in her arms to sooth her crying. "ssh Aaminah, its okay. Mama is here." The dog whimpers looking at the woman with sad face. The woman smiles and runs her fingers through the dog's head.
"Its okay, you didn't know she would wake up. Now, did you?"
She raises her eyebrows looking at the dog who just placed her head on the women's lap. She cuddled the baby in her arms gently patting her back to sooth her crying. After few minutes, the crying turned into whimpering before the child was finally back to sleep again. Motioning the dog not to make any noise while she got out of the car to look for a spare tire.
Great, no spare tire.
She looks back at the passenger seat where her dog and the baby was sleeping. It was going to be a long night she thought. After making a quick phone call to AAA to get her car towed, she lights up a cigarette looking at the sky as she gradually blows the smoke into the air looking at it as it vanishes within seconds.
"woof woof"
The women looks at her dog with anger but in a way thankful for helping her come out of her thoughts. She can't afford to look back in her past now. Her past is nothing but distant memories that come once in a while to haunt her.
"Quiet, Korra."
She says, firmly. The dog whimpers and puts her head out the window looking at the women. She pets her head while taking a puff.
"I am trying to quit you know. I am down to one pack a day but you and I both know how much i need this poison coursing through my veins and blood. You understand don't you?"
She comes near the dog holding her face. Koora licks her face while the women snuggles her face with the dog. Sometimes a human does not need a perfect communication with another human being. Sometimes it is enough to understand each other's pain through expressions.
"I talk to him when I'm lonesome like; and I'm sure he understands. When he looks at me so attentively, and gently licks my hands; then he rubs his nose on my tailored clothes, but I never say naught thereat."

"Sir, you are in luck this time. We have found some clues regarding the family."
"hmm are you waiting till I become 100 for you to tell me more in details?"
"No, sir of course not. My apologizes. It seems like only the daughter remains who is currently resides in Tampa, Florida. And also sir you might be surprised in reading what's in the file. She got some quiet a history that might be beneficial for you to know"
"Great, just what I wanted to hear. Place the file in my briefcase and book my flight for Florida, will you?"
"Its all ready done, sir. You will be leaving for Florida by next week"
"You are a great assistance Be sure to ask for a bonus check from the receptionist"
"you are very kind, sir. I was just doing my job"
"I am kind to those that helps me and ruthless to those that betray me. Anyway, you may leave now."
His eyes only remained on his briefcase where the history of the women remained. His hands were itching to read the story but he knew patience is a virtue. He will enjoy reading every bit details little by little when the time is right. For now, he had to think of a plan. A plan, that will make her burn in flames without him actually touching her. He leans back in his chair, throwing the paper weight in the air casually; thinking and planning.
