Kumud's attitude starting to irritate

Kumud is acting as if Saras committed the ultimate crime by refusing the proposal. I could identify with her till she challenged him to come here and reject her in front of her parents, understand her reluctance to show her face to a guy who has no intention of marrying her. But now her behaviour is getting on my nerves. How long will she insult Saras for a small mistake of his (which is not the rejection of the proposal but sending a letter to Kumud instead of talking to Vidyachatur directly and ending the matter) ? Pride is good but not arrogance and Kumud is definitely arrogant now.

I agree with you. I'm also irritate by this behaviour.

Saras is a very good man with a lot of qualities.
Initially I understand KUMUD, but now she biginning to know saras and I think she must change his behaviour.
Poor Saras.

She is hurt. And frankly he took the easy way out by neither speaking to his father or hers. I understand his reasons, but we must remember that she does not know all that. Naturally, it must hurt her. Especially seeing that her own father has his heart set in this alliance and he will be a broken man if and when the truth comes out. I see it as indignation more than anything. I like this better than her becoming all forgiving and mahaan.

But having said that, I agree that the petulance is overdone for sure. I am unsure if it is the problem with the writing or the acting. But they need to fix it, so that we can emapthize with both the characters at the same time, without demonizing the other.

But do we have to love each and everything about the characters? Can they not be imperfect? Can Kumud's characteristic flaw not be her ego or pride? Why does she have to be perfect. As a viewer, I am loving watching this proudy trait. It's interesting and different! Ever seen a TV female protagonist with such attitude?

I just saw the latest promo where Kumud says she will bash in to a wall if he comes in front of her but she won't show her face. That is pretty WOW!

I completely agree. I think we as an audience have become too used to forgiving sati savitri women. Kumud raises hell. She's arrogant and she has an ego as big as Saras'. She's akkdu and I love her for it. She's flawed and imperfect and I hope SLB doesn't change that. Ever. Because Kumud Sundari is why I watch the show <3

And it's a different kind of ego. Not the petty nok-jhoks we are used to on television where the girl talks non-stop etc. Kumud almost reminds me of Catherine from Wuthering Heights. There's something aggressive and wild beneath her.

Agreed. I don't know why people get off on the hero acting like a complete jerk and the heroine still being all nice to him. I love Kumud. She's BAMF 😎

This is such an exact assessment of her character. She's a force of nature and I don't mean that in a good way (well not always). She holds her family close with a fierce protectiveness and yet she's relentless in her unforgiving nature towards Saras. Usually we see either of the two characteristics, never both. Kumud is a mystery that's actually unfolding in front of us in little gestures and lines that sound meaningless. Like her eyes yesterday, my god. (the one in your signature) She spoke volumes.

Her character has so many layers its unreal. And unheard, for female characters.

Exactly exactly exactly! She seems tender and gentle but man she's got this absurd aggression. She will do what she wants to do! It makes me wonder if she is this hurt right now, what will happen later when she is left again... (without spoiling it for anyone). Will that anger remain? Or will she have turned in to a more subdued woman. Hope not!
