Yesterday was Woman's Day and all the men wished the women in their lives... Thats great!! 👍🏼
But I wonder if they have stopped to think past the day and think about the women.🤔
I was watching the movie - 'The Accused' yesterday and really what a great performance Jodie Foster.. 👏
It got me thinking...
Even today, its not only the men but women too who believe that when a girl/woman gets raped it must have been her fault. She must have invited him either by her clothing or her acting. This is really sad. And it is this way of thinking that prevents the abused from coming out in the open and accusing her abuser. The girl/woman internalises the event and blames herself instead. This has got to change NOW.
A girl/woman wearing shorts or a skirt is not asking for it...
A girl/woman having a smoke is not asking for it...
A girl/woman having a drink or two is not asking for it...
A girl/woman dancing at a club is not asking for it...
If a girl/woman shows interest and maybe kisses you, it is not an open invitation to go any further. She has a right to say 'NO' and its your responsibility to 'STOP'...
Same goes for the men. They have a right to say 'NO' and its the women's responsibility to 'STOP'...
There maybe many out there who may or may not agree with me... And I am no rapist - to FORCE or PUSH my opinions onto you..
If you agree or don't, you are free to do so... And whatever the case, you are welcome to leave your comments... 😎
P.S. : Coming back to the movie mentioned above 'The Accused'... I recommend it.. Its a must watch... 👍🏼
