OK, so am really curious..Why is it so difficult for Indian soap writers to portray a platonic relationship between two individuals without any of them ever developing romantic feelings for the other? Every time a long lost friend or new character is introduced,it is a given that he/she will be turned into a love interest in a few weeks' time..Cant we have pure unadulterated friendship portrayed between the lead and another character belonging to the opposite sex? Now lets take QH for instance..Wouldn't it be awesome if Tanveer and Asad remain childhood friends who share a very close bond and understand eachother really well? Am sure Asad has no feelings for Tanveer but you cant really be sure about Tanveer atm..I for one would love to see Tanveer remain positive and serve as a catalyst for Asad and Zoya..The purpose of this track can actually be achieved even if they resort to this non-cliched route..Asad's uptight nature and denial combined with Zoya's jealousy, insecurity and inability to deal with her new found feelings is more than enough for her to misconstrue their relationship-which of course will jolt her out of her total obliviousness to her feelings for Asad..Is it really necessary to make Tanveer negative or force a romantic angle between the two? Its always weird that leads in most soaps are shown without friends..They are either busy bickering with their love interest or immersed in solving family problems..i for one am glad that they have introduced a friend for Asad cos however brooding and lonely you are, its almost impossible for a person not to have friends..Now it would be a refreshing change if they keep it at that and just let Zoya misinterpret things..This would actually make it a lil non-cliched and at the same time, purpose of the track would be served as well..
Btw, as i mentioned earlier, it would be far more impactful if Asad seeks Zoya and comes out of his denial on his own without making Tanveer negative..Now if Tanveer were to be made negative and subsequently Asad learns his lesson, wouldn't it seem like Asad chose Zoya merely because he saw Tanveer's true colours?Wouldn't that make Zoya look like a second choice and his love conditional?Don get me wrong, i firmly believe Asad is totally in love with Zoya and irrespective of what happens in the future, will never develop feelings for Tanveer or any other girl for that matter..But Asad is someone who thinks of marriage as a mere formality and doesn't belive that love is a necessity..So it is very much possible for the guy to marry Tanveer without having even an inkling of interest in her..Now what i don what is their marriage getting stopped at the last moment merely because Asad realised Tanveer is not what she seems to be..This would mean that if she was indeed the sweet girl, he would have gone ahead and married her and ruined his and Zoya's life in one stroke..So what i'd love to see is Asad realizing Zoya' worth on his own independent of Tanveer's character and understand that his stuck up ideologies are so not worth holding on to when faced with the prospect of losing Zoya..This would add so much more depth to his character and feelings for Zoya..😳Am not sure whether am making sense here but i'd love to hear your views😊
