Friends - we are so many of us here -
including our Afsar Bitiya - who was a woman of substance -

So how about celebrating this week as
Women's Week!
Though only a day is Woman's Day, I find that not many are active on all days - so we can have topics or anything you wish to share on important women who have inspired you - a small way of celebrating their existence in this world.
Special mention also can and must be made of the men in their lives who have contributed to the success of their women through their support and care...
[edited]
She gave life. She is a wife.
She is a mother and she is a friend.
She is a sister a survivor to the end.

Appreciate her, we don't dare.
Ask her worries, we don't care.
Wipe away her tears, they are invisible as air.

She works cooks and cleans.
She laughs, helps comfort, and hides her pain.
When you struggle she pulls you through

She swallows her pride, put her feelings aside.
Does as you need in order for you to be free.
Ignores your ignorance and tolerates your flaws.

I call her Strong, Smart, Sensual, Caring, Giving, Surviving, Tolerant and powerful
I call her WOMAN!

The first Woman who has been a source of inspiration for me has to be my Mom - for she has seen life in all its phases and is forever smiling and happy!
A poem dedicated to my Mom!

Badi pyaari ek ladki thhi,

Jo sabke dil par chaayi thhi,

Rang thha gora ,aankh thhe kaale,

Sabse choti – aur dulaari thhi.

Beet gaya bachpan uska,

Khelne, koodne, gaane mein,

Aayi jawaani milna thha use

Apne dil ke rajkumar se.

Thha woh itna honhaar ki

Lagti thhi use khud mein kami

Par pyar thha unme beshumaar ki

Na aayi kabhi unmein doori.

Phir hua aisa ek haadsa,

Jisne unki duniya ko hila diya

Us ladki ke raja ne par

Hausala apna nahi haara.

Aaj bhi woh apne bachchon ko,

Apni beeti baaten sunaati hain,

Kabhi na haaro – chalte jaao,

Yahi seekh sikhaati hain..

Naaz hai unko apne raja par,

Jo haar ke sab – phir se ubhraa,

Apni rani aur bacchon par

Jisne khushiyaan hi barsaaya.

(written by me for my Mom and Dad! )

My Mom – my inspiration, my best friend, my daily dose of never ending chatting –

and the best ever support to my well - accomplished Dad!

Sorry friends, I am more comfortable with Hindi so I wrote it in that but I will try and put up a translation when I find time!

Love this post and Thanks for sharing it Shanti with us !!!!! 👍🏼 After all, Women deserves at least this special celebration coz How would be the world without them ? Well, in my POV... nothing ! So,We have to be proud of ourselves !!!! Of course , Kudos to our strong and as Sandia perfectly said our ' Warrior Afsar Queen' who will remain a model for the world and especially women coz of her determination, her honesty and many more... (sorry, the list is long 😛 ). Her character will stay close to my heart forever. Particularly, Hats off to Mitali as nobody couldn't play this role better than her 👏. She touched my heart , for me She is truly the best ❤️ Btw, the poem is awesome, it show the true value of a woman. Obviously, It's a real pleasure to celebrate Women's week with you, Shanti and Sandia. 😳

Great post Shanti,,,will surely be part of it,,,,,we as women are so strong it's unbelieveable,,,,,and I can say from experience we also give strength to our spouse, who depend on us without realising.

But my mother will always be the strongest woman in my life, may god bless her soul,,she worked really hard at her job, did everything at home, gave her time to anyone in need, gave effortlessly without expecting anything in return, instilled great values in her children, never complained not even once, always supported her siblings as she was the eldest, endured everything until her last breath, and then there was my father whom she loved.

And of course I have to say myself, the reason being since my mother's passing, I've had to take care of my own family, my father and my brother who I live with, and I have two sisters who are much younger to me, so I've tried to fill my mother's shoes where they are concerned, and at times it's tough but situations have made me stronger,,,,of course I admire my sisters who have grown into strong women themselves and not forgetting Mitali who was outstanding as Krishna, and Krishna whose story inspired so many young girls/women to pursue their studies and strive for success.
