yes it does happen and I wish all husbands handle it like Shiv. Most people don't have the courage to talk to their parents this way and the daughter in law faces the entire fiasco.

One example to share on this progressive forum is my sister's case, where all relatives stayed for a month at their home after marriage and kept making indirect comments of when they would do it and one day she was so frustrated that she directly answred to her daadi saas in front of 5 other grown ups that all you people are not giving them time to spend with each other πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ ...the MIL was shocked with shame and the daadisaas almost fainted...But no one interfered with their personal matter after that...
