If you read my previous posts in Gul's other show, you will see that I am very supportive of this nice lady who is making it sort of on her own in a male-dominated industry. But does that mean we should cut her slack when Qubool Hai is doing so badly at suspense? We should hold all male and female directors to the same expectations and by doing that we are giving you full credit Gul. You are great at building funny, quirky, caricature Mills and Boons romances. Stick to that. Cannot advertise Zoya and Asad and concentrate on this silly dragged on drama on every minute character. Yes, minute character, because the character building in this show has been really weak compared to our previous shows with fewer characters. As I always write, don't bite off more than you can chew. The TRPs are good now but they will not stick if this goes on too long.

It's not exactly rocket science. It was evident to just from the first week of the show that Mamu was Zoya's father and Razia killed Zoya's mom (said skeleton, eeks, tasteless). Zoya had visions at the beginning in dreams and now she's in the freaking factory and she has no visions or memories? That's her freaking mother in front of her. Whatever happened to the melodramatic soap bonds? A crying, screaming 3 year old, Zoya was not noticed during the arson. How come? Maybe she burned in the house rather than the factory but no one lives long enough in a fire to see all the fames around them. They die from the fumes.

Don't even get me started on the time bloopers that leaves QH in a mess. It is the main reason why this story has not received the international fame the other one did. You cannot fool audiences. This story is not tight. You have built that Rashid has played a part, okay, great, let's move on now. And that doll is brand new for one 17 years old. Could have dipped it in tea to give an old look. Plus, first thing kids do with toys is dissect. Anyways, all this crying and stalling is irksome. QH is good for Zoya and Asad, you need to give more Zoya and Asad. Also, Ayaan is useless and no mother would ask Ayaan to save his dad. That kid is only good for nothing. Shireen would go straight for Asad.

Speaking of irksome...Zoya's wardrobe. I am a New Yorker and no, we don't dress like that! Conservative full sleeves and not, New Yorkers have a distinct style. All you have to do is Google it and adapt it for a warmer climate. We do not wear jeans that are unflattering to our body types and we do not deck out in satin full sleeve pieces with only a cheap belt. Her looks is very cheap. All you got right was the tablet and the side bag. Tech geek or not, Muslim or not. When we cover our arms, we do it with cardigans, jackets, jeans and leather, not full satin ill-fitting smocks. Our tunics go past our hips, we DO NOT tuck them in unless we are in the office and tucking into corporate skirts and pants. I am talking typical NY looks here. Jeans, we hardly do blue anymore. We are all about the colored jeans and black jeggings right now. Do you research! As I have said before, if you are going to shrimp on our leads' outfits, you will lose the show. Just like the last one.

*** Just about everyone has managed to misunderstand me. I am NOT, I repeat, NOT making a statement against Zoya wearing full sleeves or more conservative clothing. Notice, I never said she should wear short skirts or dresses yet the PC police assumed I did. I am not judging her on her trendiness, she's too bland to be judged anyway. Wouldn't mind if she did wear casual clothes but they have to say something about where she comes from. And where she comes from, clothes like that are just not common. Wouldn't mind if she wore a hijab all the time as many of my friends do. Yes, I am very well aware she has a burn mark, which is why I elaborated on all the ways NY women cover up their arms. See above in red. That, was an argument for variety. What I described here were CASUAL clothing. Not runway model clothing like the catty responses pointed out. If you think what I described was runway model clothing, then you should go to style.com and look at runway shows. No, seriously.

So no, I am not arguing for her to be trendy, I am asking for variety as no woman in the world only chooses on type of top and wear it in different colors with blue jeans all her life. Lack of research. Again. Whether you are interested in fashion or not, depending on where you live and what is around you, you can get assimilated with a certain LOOK. This is why you can tell a NY girl apart from a Parisian. For the clothes don't matter crowd, deny it all you like but wearing comfort pieces like uggs will also set you apart. Uggs are more common in places like USA, Canada, and of course Australia. If someone was shown in a TV show who was from Kenya and she wore Uggs all the time, then yes, it will look out of place if she is shown as a native Kenyan person.

Zoya can WEAR WHATEVER SHE WANTS, EXCEPT THAT SHE DOESN'T! SHE WEARS ONE THING - sleeved smocks! They can't even be called proper tops. That's the CV's taking the easy way out and shrimping on the lead who matters the most. They waste money on useless characters, yet cannot find the budget to assemble a variety in their lead's wardrobe - be it Khushi or Zoya.

Last but not the least, no it is NEVER forgivable that Asad up and slapped Zoya - a woman who is a guest and stranger to him above all else. Just because he's Muslim and so are you (Gul) does not mean you can take "creative liberties" to fire the same stereotypes that plague Muslim men in our day and age. That was uncalled for. Zoya might have really deserved it but Asad in no way made up for it now that it is done. He's back to being his arrogant self. Your previous leads got borderline abusive but this is really the pinnacle of all ridiculousness. Cannot call yourself righteous women's rights advocates after the Delhi rape to stir the public emotion and then have our lead slap the girl. Using the public emotion just when it suits you for TRPs and then going back to promoting the same regressive ideas made me really think lowly of 4Lions. You better equal it out now that there is no going back. Asad has done his fair share to get a slap back.

You don't know NY women if you think we will sit back and take a slap from any man, much less some random dude from Bhopal (no offense to people from there) who thinks he's too good for us because he's rich and introverted. Take it from a New Yorker, my smack-down cuts in words as it cuts in real life. I would sooner barbeque Asad in his front yard. Yes, I write in a half-joke. The answer to violence is not violence, but I hope you can see the point actually being made.

Here's hoping QH will give me something good to say if there is a next time. In the meantime, thoughts are most welcome.

Zoya's costumes are below the standards of any Indian metropolitan citiy girls, leave alone NY. fashion is fast catching up in all major cities in India. I had a student in university who was from Bhopal, her sense of dressing up was impeccable.

Physical and emotional atyachar on women in 4 lions soaps by the lead men is now becoming stale. Every male lead has a dark past, neglected by parent, doesn't believe in love, and always has a damsel who is too chirpy to digest. And there has to be a sibling who he dots on. Either the suspense pertaining to the past is revealed too early in the most unconvincing manner or it is totally ignored altogether. Can we please ask for some fresh ideas?

Hey Mary...I anyway don't think that zoyas clothes are not new Yorker types...though I live in India I visit new York atleast 3 to 4 times a year coz my grandpa lives there...well talking about fashion and jackets u can see that Zoya wore a sort jacket during dance...and if u can see in new York it's a fashion of floral tops or simple tops tucked in jeans with belt on it...u can always Google on various online sites too...u will come to know...ya I too don't like her belt ...but that all depend on taste...plus she wears full sleeves due to her burn and in Bhopal wearing fancy short sleeve tops with jackets is pretty impossible due to weather and too much of moisture...ab Assad ne shayad central a.c. nahin lagvaaye tou Kya karey bicharii:D 😆 😆

Have to disagree with you Dear. As a person who often buy clothes from international well reputed sites, I have to say that Zoya's clothes are quite fashionable and trendy. I tried to post some photos from a French international site from their last spring- summer collection and they had lots of POLKA dot blouses and other blouses and shirts which are LONG SLEEVE and very similar to what Zoya wore. and the models there also wore them with jeans and most of the time tucked in with a belt around hips. Zoya's belts are metal kind most of the time, while theirs' are usually leather and Zoya's jeans are boot- cut kind while theirs are mostly straight leg..that's the only difference.( this may be because Boot-cut jeans suit Zoya's figure better and so using them is not a fashion disaster).

I could not post the pictures as it's coming as message size over the limit. (If anybody tells me how to post pictures will post them). And Zoya recently wore a white satin blouse very similar to one in this site, difference being she had tucked it in and the model there has not tucked it in and wore it a bit loosely. But then all individuals have a variation in the way they adorn even similar dress and different people accessorize them differently.

And coming from Newyork doesn't mean that she has to dress exactly as they do. And I know for a fact that even in New York, there are people who don't follow the latest trend and wear what they feel is comfortable and make that as their style statement. Hope I did not offend you.😃

But 4lions didn't advertise Asad-Zoya.

It was portrayed as a melodrama and that's what they showing.

With that said the slap is something I've yet to digest and my interest has faded from the show by many degrees since then.

Further the character of Rashid has added to this dis-interest.

I watch the show mostly because I like KSG and I would be lying is I said the story is compelling. It was initially, the sazish, but then the way they are portraying Dilshad as some love sick fool who trusts her cheating despicable husband and even showing Zoya speaking in defence of Rashid has honestly put me off a great deal.

I am not making a comment against full sleeves. You should read my post again. But no one wears only tucked in satin. I have been in NY nearly all my life and know no Muslim girls who dress like that. Floral tops are fine but no one here is that unfashionable. The only time she wore a cardi was the dance. It is not a difference in taste that is the problem. It is complete lack of research. I have been to really hot and humid places, you can wear a summer cardi, not a problem. Simply Googling this will show you Chinese pictures with their own sense of fashion.
