Then perhaps you really need to understand the meaning of the word "Tharki" - it means "sex-maniac" - someone who's thinking about sex 24x7 - mostly men - middle-aged.

That definition can't be applied to a 17 yr old boy by any stretch of imagination - not even if he locked himself in the bathroom with the latest issue of penthouse and Veena Malik on his phone.

Be realistic - it was a silly freudian slip by a teenager - that's it. Too much ado about a gaffe.

^ Men do think about sex most of the time. 😆

IMO, keep the thoughts to yourself and it's okay. Don't start showering unwanted attentions.

^ Thinking about sex is not equal to being a sex-maniac.

By the way that statement was quite insulting to the male gender. I'm sure that EVEN men are capable of rational thought; despite the fact that they would like to portray themselves as slightly above animals in controlling their urges :)

I am a male, and I say the truth. It's not insulting by any means. Controlling the desires and behaving in rational way is a thing that deserves respect.

^ You seriously don't feel insulted by the inanities that surround the male-gender - reducing them to something slightly above apes and dogs? I find the adages "men will be men" and "men can't help but think of sex all the time" - extremely condescending to the male gender.

Of course men don't think of sex all the time, and I say that as a woman - don't YOU hide behind platitudes and generalizations - that's not you.

Controlling desires is a good thing - but this is like saying that one half of the species is constantly battling thirst, or hunger or the desire to pee - sex is just one more urge and nothing more. Let's not define 50% of human population as weaklings here.

^ I don't feel insulted by the truth. Although stupid analogies are stupid, like men are dogs. No, we are not. But, we are highly intelligent animals, so some animal instincts remain. What I don't like is denying a natural instinct as something to be ashamed of.

Yes, not all the time like 24x7, but what I meant was that we can think about it anytime our attention gets to it. Yeah, it's an urge.

I don't think this is the place to discuss this, I made a post regarding this topic in DM. If you want, we can take it up there. You may want to read the thread, as I and others made follow up posts later as the discussion progressed.

^ Yep even I was wondering about the propriety of the tangent this discussion was taking. Have posted my reply to a post on the last page. Did read your post on Page 2, but thought that it might be better to jump into the discussion where it stopped last.
