Yes, it was not the right time to call Asad insensitive, harsh , judgmental and all that jazz. Asad, in any case, is going through a heavily emotional trauma where the lines between his childhood hatred for his father and Rashid's individual sinner act against a mysterious woman. To top that. Asad's most precious relationship - his Mom is choosing her love over her son and that too very coldly and harshly.
So, rejected by his mother , Asad walks out of the room only to be faced by a teary eyed Zoe who because of her love for Dilshad and her feeling of right over Asad tells him to give the other side of the coin a second chance. Asad , in that kind of a mood is usually violent , dangerous and unpredictable. Perhaps he had gauged that already - and that is why as a RED ALERT , he told her that at the moment , he didn't want to speak to her and he wanted to be left alone. And that did it for Zoe.
"Leave me alone." How much that hurt Zoe and how much she hated the very sound of Asad telling her to go away showed up on her face, in her eyes, in her voice. Was she hurt? TOO MUCH. That is why she took off on some other tangent, putting Rashid and Dilshad at the shelf for a while. Alone? Leave you alone? Of course, why will you talk to me? Who am i? In any case, you are alone enough already. Alone in everything and i just wonder just how much more alone you want to be! Zoe was stung by the thought of Asad rejecting her all over again . Or else she would have never said what she said.
And as though Zoe's saas-bahu waale taane were not enough , she put her nose and head up in the air and told him that she will leave him alone in the witness box also. Asad, on a verge of exploding already lost his head and pulled her close, to his height , seethed into her face that she cannot lie and she is not going to lie. Asad's aggression always rattles Zoe but if you notice things are beginning to change. Asad had grabbed her but instead of the physical hurt that has shown up before this, Zoe was more zonked by this mode of Asad- the physical tension and how far they have come stopped Asad from spanking her around and causing physical hurt. She just told him Please... and he let her go.
And what followed is proof enough that Zoe just gets nervous with Asad's temper. She is not scared anymore and she is taking bold chances at tackling him. When Asad left her and turned away , she didn't shake in terror like before. She just put her point through calmly, realizing that getting aggressive and abrasive with Asad is a mistake. She told him that it doesn't harm to see both the sides. Think about a bleak possibility that Rashid maybe innocent. Asad LISTENED. He understood and Zoe topped it with - Your coffee is getting cold. Please have it.
Reasoning. Tolerance. Tenderness. Zoe is learning the craft of keeping Asad in a safe zone , even though she ends up rattling his insides sometimes. Today, Zoe wouldn't have said all those hurtful words about being alone and loveless , if Asad hadn't told her to leave him alone. Zoe was mighty scorned and injured by Asad's rejection and out came the hurtful - You are Mr.Lonely song.
We saw the repercussion of this, didn't we? Asad called up the charity event and got the toy box back home. He has no faith in Rashid but only because Zoe told him to hang on to that bleak hope , he took a chance to try and see the other side. Dilshad is Asad;s mother and nobody loves him like she does. But when it comes to understanding who Asad really is and how his walls should be broken, Zoe knows it without even trying. That is why Zoe is Asad's soulmate.
Rest? I think the current track is beyond who is right and who is wrong? Nobody is reacting rationally - everyone is either emotional or else moral. Dilshaad, Shireen, Ayaan, Badi Bii , Nikhat , Najma - they have faith in Rashid's CHARACTER as a man who has not hurt a fly in his life. The kind of faith you have in your loved ones which often clouds your objective judgment. Ayaan wants to trust his father and Asad too but he realized today that sometimes, you have to make a choice. He chose Rashid.
Asad has merged his childhood hatred with Rashid's 'no comments in my defence' attitude and his own righteous moral nature. Asad's moral stand is mixed with his own biased hatred for his father. A man who has failed Asad all his life is easy for Asad to accuse and hold criminal. Yes, Asad's reaction is emotional but its layered with his sense of justice for the woman who died in that mill years ago.
Zoe was rational till now and maybe she still is. But seeing the emotional trauma all around her and Dilshad's condition , she too got swayed today and told Asad that she can lie and she will. We have the wrong notion about this girl. She is rational but she is as massively emotional as Asad. Its just that their degrees of volatility differ a little.
And why is everyone in this mess? Because Rashid has sealed his lips. One truth could have stopped this all. It still can. Everything and everyone is falling apart ,not because of Razia. Its you. And boy , you know it!
P.S- Asad should realize by now that his every word affects Zoe a lot. His 'Leave me alone' hit her really bad. She doesn't want to get out of his territory and if he pushes her away, you can expect more saas-bahu taanas and buckets of tears from her. Zoe , as far as Asad is concerned, refuses to be detached. Simple.
