I still havent watched all Qubool hai eps and am still catching up but I just wanted to ask are Nuzhat and Nikhat, Asads step sisters or his half sisters. If Rashid is the father of Ayaan, Nikhat and Nuzhat then they'd all be his half siblings so why do people on youtube and blogs keep referring to them as step siblings and saying that Nikhat and Nuzhat are his step sisters.

Because some dont know the difference! They are half siblings, coz all 5 have the same father...

No they aren't! Step-siblings have no blood relation...that is you don't share a parent.

Half-siblings either have a common mother or father. Ayaan, Nikhat and Nuzrat are Asad and Najma's half-siblings.

Because in hindi your "step" mother is called sautheli ma and her children are sautheli bhai, behen which gets translated back into English as step brother and step sister even though you might have the same father. Same with step father and his children. Hope that makes sense :)

In hindi it makes sense because there is not alternate word for half-siblings but in english they absolutely are half-siblings :)

Since, the show is in muslim background and with urdu being used as first language, the word sautela or step brother or sister is used correctly. Infact, in urdu there is no term as half sibling.

If a man remarries, his wife is step mother to his children with previous marriage. Likewise, if a woman remarries, her husband is step father to her children with previous marriage. So the children are called step children. And in either case, they will have a common parent. So, they are step siblings...
