It is bright and early on Saturday Morning, and Rey is pacing left and right in his bedroom.
R: What should I do? Kya karun? Kya karun? Kuch samaj nahin aa raha
Rey continues pacing around his room, when suddenly an idea pops into his head.
R (clicking his fingers): IDEA!
He quickly takes out his mobile from his pocket, types a message and sends it.
R: YES, this is the best thing to do, I should get ready.
Saying this Rey leaves to get ready.
On the other side, in five different homes, five different phones start beeping, five people check their phones and they all have the same message.
From: Rey
URGENT!!! Guys meet me at Phoenix Mill Mall in an hour.
Swayam, Nilesh, Vicky, Bharat and Amar wonder what could be going on (of course it's them, who else would it be), but none the less they get ready to meet their friend at the mall.
Mall
Rey is waiting at the entrance of the mall for his friends; all five of them reach together and catch up with Rey.
R: Where were you guys, kabse wait kar raha hoon
Nil: Are Rey, abhi toh ek ghanta bhi nahin hua yaar, we are all early.
R: Sorry guys, but I'm really confused and have no clue what to do
Sw: Hua kya hai? Message mein bhi tune urgent likha tha, yahaan pe kya urgent kaam?
R: Guys urgent hi toh hai, Thursday ko Valentines Day hain, aur main abhi tak Taani ke liye kuch nahin liya
Boys: WHAT?
V: Tune hume yahaan subah Taani ka valentine gift kharidne ke liye bulaya hai
R: Nahin
A: Nahin? Phil kyun bulaya hai
Bh: Haan, aisa kaun sa kaam aagaya
R: Guys gift toh main hi kharidoonga, sirf tum logo ki help chaiye hai ke kya loon uske liye
Sw: Rey, lekin how will we help you
R: Swayam, tu uska bhai hai yaar, you know what she likes and doesn't like
Sw: Yah, but when I get her a gift, I get her one as a brother, ab boyfriend ki taraf se kya dena chaiye hai, mujhe kya pata
R (thinks): Rey beta, yeh log aise nahin maanenge, shuru kar apni acting
R (acting hurt): Fine, you guys won't help me, I understand, tum log bahot busy ho gaye ho na, ab apne is dost ke liye tumhare paas time kahaan (pretends to wipe away a tear) Dost dost na raha
The boys all look at each other, and Swayam finally speaks up
Sw: Fine, band kar apni yeh overacting, karte hain help
R (getting a huge smile on his face): Great, thanks guys
All the boys start walking around the mall trying to find something to buy, but none of them had a clue as to what to actually get.
R: Vicky, tu toh relationship mein tha nah, tu hum sabse experienced hai, tu Neha ko kya deta?
V: Are yaar meri Kagu (all the boys stare at him with their eyebrows up), I mean Neha ke liye shoping karna easy hai, I would just get her DVDs of her favorite films. Actually Rey, tub hi Taani ko DVDs gift karde, woh bhi toh filmy hain (dreamily, imagines falling into a pool) bilkul Neha ki tarah
All the boys clear their throat to get Vicky out of his dreamworld.
V (stares at the boys): Sorry, old habits
Boys: It's ok
R: And no yaar, DVDs nahin, not on Valentines Day. Swayam, yaar Taani teri behen hai, kuch toh help kar
Sw (thinks for a minute): She loves soft toys
All the boys look at each other smiling: GIRLS!!!
R: Great idea Swayam, luckily girls' kitni predictable hoti hain
They all go to the nearest Archies store, and all the boys get inside and start looking for the perfect teddy bear. One by one, each boy brings up a bear to Rey, however Rey rejects them all. Vicky and Nilesh both see a stuffed monkey and they both grab on to it, one person on each side.
Nil: Dude, I saw it first
V: No, I did
They both start having a tug of war with the monkey, and people passing by give them weird looks, as to why two grown up boys are fighting over a stuffed monkey.
V: Nil, chorde, yeh mera hai
Nil: Nahin, maine pehle dekha tha, yeh mera hai
While they are having this tug of war, Nil spots Bharat and Vicky spots Amar. Both of them at the same time say:
Nil: Bharat meri help kar
V: Amar meri help kar
Amar and Bharat look at each other, shrug their shoulder but none the less start helping their friends. So on one side, the stuffed monkey is being pulled by Nil, who is being pulled by Bharat, and on the other side the monkey is being pulled by Vicky, who is being pulled by Amar.
A crowd starts gathering around them, and Swayam and Rey who were on the other side of the store also notice the ruckus being created on the other side of the store, They go to check it out and are stunned to see their friends in the middle of it. They push through the people to get to the middle to their friends.
Sw + R: GUYS, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
V + Nil (still continuing the tug of war): Rey, look what I found for Taani
V: I found it
Nil: No, I found it
Vicky and Nil keep arguing back and forth while pulling the stuffed toy towards them.
Sw: Guys, Taani is deathly afraid of monkeys
V + Nil: WHAT?
Only then, the stuffed toy rips, and Nil falls on top of Bharat and onto the floor, with the monkey's arm in his hand. And Vicky falls onto Amar and onto the floor, with the monkey's other arm in his hand, the body of the monkey falls in the middle. The manager of the store arrives and sees the aftermath of the chaos in front of him
Manager (pointing at the boys): All of you, out of my store
The boys try to apologize, but the manager does not listen and throws them all out of the store.
R: Guys, what were you thinking?
V: Yaar, we didn't know that Taani is scared of monkeys
Nil: I know dude, who is scared of monkeys
Nil and Vicky start laughing and high five each other, Rey and Swayam glare at them, and they quiet down, look towards the ground and softly say 'sorry'.
The boys head to the food court, get some food and sit around a table.
Bh: Ab?
All the boys start thinking about what to do
R: Guys, should I ask Sharon?
The boys look at him with questioning looks
R: I mean, she is a girl, aur use pata hoga, ke girls ko Valentines Day pe kya accha lagta hai
V: Right dude, I think it's a great idea
Sw: I don't think so, dude Sharon and Taani are very different. Dono ki choices ekdum alag hai.
R (confused about what to do): Toh kya karu
Nil: You can still call Sharon, we'll tell her the gift is for Taani, and at least we'll get some idea. Abhi toh hum aise hi ghoom rahe hai
Rey looks towards Swayam asking him what to do.
Sw (shrugs his shoulders): Try karle
Rey nods his head, takes out his phone, calls Sharon, and puts her on speaker phone.
Sh: Hi Rey
R: Hey Sharon, how are you?
Sh: I'm fine, you?
R: I'm good but actually Sharon; there is something I needed your help with.
Sh: Help? With what?
R: A Valentines gift
Sh: WHAT?
R: Actually, I'm looking for a gift for Taani, and I'm so confused, I have no clue what to get her
Sh: Oh my God, are you actually telling me Rey, I mean the Reyaansh Singhania, is searching the mall for a gift to give to his girlfriend. Oh my God, this day needs to go down in history.
R: Sharon, you can pull my leg later, right now I seriously need your help.
Sh: Rey, now how would I know what Taani would like, why don't you ask Swayam, he is her brother
Rey looks towards Swayam, and Swayam gets a slight smile on his face, because Sharon mentioned him.
R: Yah, I tried that, no help.
Sh: Hmm, let me think, well I don't know what Taani likes, but all girls love clothes, why don't you get her a nice dress or something, or a handbag, Dior have launched a great new line, (Rey tries to interrupt but Sharon continues) or make up, I've heard the new MAC liner is absolutely fab.
R: Umm Sharon
Sh (not listening, just keeps on talking): Actually you could check out Fendi too, I haven't seen their new collection yet, but it's supposed to be really good.
R: Umm Sha..
Sh (still not listening):..God I haven't been shopping in ages, I really need to go, I need to check the Valentino new collection too, so much to do, so li..
And Rey hung up. Rey looks at his friends and they all have a shocked expression on their face.
Sw: I told you, ekdum alag choice
Rey just nods his head, and then dejectedly puts his head on the table.
V: Rey dude, look at that girl
Rey doesn't react
V (shaking rey): Reyy, uss ladki ko dekh yaar, joh us table pe bethi hai
R: Vicky, main yahaan apni girlfriend ke liye Valentine gift lene aaya hoon, aur tu mujhe ladkiyon ke dekhne ko bol raha hai, I am really not interested.
Sw: Rey, I think you should look
R (picks up his head from the table): Swayam tu bhi
V: Dude, usne bilkul taani jaise kapre pehne hai, we should ask her, maybe she would know something
Rey looks towards the girl, and she is dressed in the same way Taani dresses, Rey looks up towards God
R: Hey Krishnaji, please iss baar meri help kardo
Rey gets up and all his friends look at him with shocked faces
R: Kya?
Boys: Krishnaji?
Sw: Lagta hai, meri behen ka sach mein tujhpe bahot impact hua hai
R (smiing): Whatever guys, ab chalo, let's ask her
All the boys get up and walk over to a table of four girls.
Boys: Hi girls
Girls (looking over at them): Hi
Girl #1: Aap log kuch familiar se lagte hai
Girl #2: Yah right, mujhe bhi lagta hai
Girl #3 (who is dressed as Taani): Oh my God, you guys are a part of D3 right?
Boys (a bit stunned to be recognized): Yah
Girl #4: We saw you perform in Goa, you all were damn awesome
Boys: Thanks
R (gesturing to girl #3): Actually we were hoping to talk to you
G #3: Me?
R: Yah, umm what's your name?
G#3: Vrinda (sorry guys couldn't help myself)
R: Hi Vrinda, I'm Rey, this is Swayam, Vicky, Nilesh, Amar and Bharat. Umm, actually you must know, umm, Valentines day is coming up
Vr (confused as to where Rey is going with this): Umm, yaahhh
R: Well, actually me and my friends have been going up and down this mall for the past 3 hours, trying to find a gift for my girlfriend, but we have been completely unsuccessful, and we were hoping that you, umm and your friends could help us.
Girl #1: Awww, that's soo sweet
Girl #2: Man I wish Akshay (her boyfriend) did so much for me
R (slightly blushing): Umm, so will you help?
Vr (confused): Umm Rey, I would love to, but I don't even know your girlfriend, how can I help?
Sw: Actually you have the exact same dressing style as my sister, so we just assumed, maybe you could give us a couple of ideas
Girls: Sister?
Swayam and Rey look at each other.
Sw: Umm, yah my sister,
R: And my girlfriend
G#4: So you're dating his sister? And you guys are friends?
R +Sw: Yah
Girls: That's soo adorable!
The boys just nod.
Vr: SO you basically want to know what I would want my boyfriend to gift me
R: EXACTLY!
Vr (thinks for a minute and then answers): To be absolutely honest, I wouldn't really care about a gift, as long as I got to spend the day with him. But, if I was to be given a gift, it should be something simple, not some elaborate thing. Something which I can always keep with me to remind me of him, and something that reminds him of me when he sees it. I know it sounds silly, but you know something simple and sweet, sorry, I can't think of something specific.
R (smiling): No, it's not silly, that's absolutely Taani. Thanks girls.
Boys: Thanks
The boys leave and start walking around the mall once again.
Nil: So, what reminds you of Taani?
Rey starts thinking and as he is thinking and walking, something catches his eye.
R: Guys, I'll be right back
Rey runs to a store's window and sees a necklace. He looks up, Accessorize, he goes in and picks up a simple necklace with a heart shaped pendant. He sees it and all he can think of is Taani.
R (thinking): Taani, you are my heart. I love you.
Rey quickly buys the necklace, comes out of the store and joins up with his friends.
R (smiling): OK, done
Boys: done?
R: Yah, I got the perfect gift
Boys: What?
R: Sorry guys, can't show you, it's between Taani and me.
Boys: WHAT?
The boys look angry
V: Hum itni der se
Nil: tere help
Bh: kar rahe hain
A: Aul tu
Sw: Hume gift bhi nahin dikahyega
R (smiles pleadingly and sweetly): Guys, please understand, dil ka mamla hai
Boys (giving up and sighing): Fine
Sw: At least you got your gift; now we can finally go home
The boys start to leave
R: Guys
All the boys stop, turn around and look at Rey.
R: What about the card?
All the boys step towards Rey with murderous looks on their faces. Rey sees their expressions, quickly steps back, holding his hands up.
R: Never mind, woh main khud le loonga.
