it is not similar! the only similarity is that the fasting lasts one month.

this sharavan is for husband's well - being. Muslim fast for another purpose.

Lol ye..I was saying ditto to the fact that I am Muslim too..not because the purpose of fasting is the same 😛

Muslim's purpose of fasting is to attain God-Consciousness..To become closer to God 😉😃

for those of u who r curious, chitra was right.............hindus celebrate this month in different ways............

we gujus perform a 1 meal fast for the month...........as i mentioned the month has many holy/special days for eg. the 5th day is "Naag Panchmi"...........a day we perform pooja for "naag devta" & only eat khichdi & bhaji..........the 6th day we basically cook for 2 days as on the 7th day we do not make use of the stove & hence eat cold food(thereby food made on the 6th day)...........etc etc.

there are many such days so if u wish to know more PM me & i will send u the info.............

btw tx for the wishes all...........
