A TRIBUTE TO THE UNSUNG HEROES OF IPK
In our world of big names, curiously, our true heroes tend to be anonymous. In this life of illusion and quasi-illusion, the person of solid virtues who can be admired for something more substantial than his well-knowingness often proves to be the unsung hero: the teacher, the nurse, the mother, the honest cop, the hard worker at lonely, underpaid, unglamorous, unpublicized jobs. ?Daniel J Boorstin
Through this post I would like to pay tribute to the Unsung hero's of the runaway hit show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Do. Although they remain in the background, and in the shadows of the leads, they in their way contributed so much to the show by way of their brilliant work. Their contribution to the show is no way less precious than the leads. The supporting cast of this show was the backbone of the show.
Many a show have come and gone but very few have touched our hearts and have been a tremendous hit online that it made the channel telecasting it also very famous.
Iss Pyaar ko Kya Naam Do is the one show I would like to name as an example. The show which was so different from all other shows on Indian Television with its concept and brilliant story accompanied by some brilliant acting and Kudos to TEAM IPKKND
"Only the family, society's smallest unit, can change and yet maintain enough continuity to rear children who will not be "strangers in a strange land," who will be rooted firmly enough to grow and adapt."
? Salvador Minuchin, Families and Family Therapy
Relationships' build a family and the bonding between each and every relationship was so beautifully defined in this show. Between adopted parents and child, brother and sister, brothers, sisters, Mother-in-law and daughter in law, that it made the show all the more special for us.

Apart from the Leads and Parallel leads the supporting cast in this show were like the precious gems in King Akbar's court.
Naaniji aka Deviyaani Singh Raizaada, Maamiji aka Manorama Singh Raizada, Aakash and Payal Singh Raizada, Mahendra Singh Raizada, Bauji aka Shashi Gupta, Amma aka Garima Gupta, Buaji aka Madhumathi, Lavanya, The Prakash Brothers, Laskshmi, Daadiji and Aman.
DEVI MAIYYA

Deviyaani Singh Raizaada aka Naaniji

A much-loved Naaniji whose broadmindedness, generosity of spirit and her undying faith and trust in Kushi was a very adorable character etched in my mine.
Mahendra Singh Raizada,
MAAMAJI , MAAMIJI AND AKASH
Maamaji, a man of few words and was forever outeaten by his wife, though was in the show for a short time was indeed very beautifully characterized. The love for his wife and son, mother and his sister's children was very beautifully portrayed. He was one in a few who stumbled on Shyam's plans and saved Anjali unknowingly at least twice.
Maamiji aka Manorama Singh Raizada
Maamiji with her tough and caustic tongue but with a golden heart every ready to do anything for her children Arnav and Anjali is really heart warming. Her wit kept us entertained throughout the show.
I still remember the scene when she gets up in the middle of the night and brings all the jewelry and bonds to save Arnav from the Kidnappers.
Aakash and Payal Singh Raizada

Aakash and Payal the most adorable couple and who did not get their due. Their love for their siblings was indeed touching and both so sweet natured. When the occasion called they were very protective of their siblings.
Nandakishore, aka NK

Nandakishore or Naaneji as Kushi calls him, the cousin from Down Under whose Hindi and dialogues had us in splits was indeed a very beautiful character inside out. He was always smiling, except when he knew the truth about Shyam and never held a grudge. He was a true friend and partner in crime for Kushi and her madcap schemes. When needed a person she could trust and he would do anything for he no questions asked. He knew that whatever she did was for the good of the family.
LAVANYA

Lavanya, another character in the show was introduced as Arnav's Secretary cum Girlfriend. She entertained us, when Kushi trained Lavanya for becoming an ideal Bahu for the Raizada Khandaan. One can never forget her for her change of character by the goodness of Kushi. She was only there for a short time but she did leave her mark, by the very matured way in which she gave up Arnav and broke of the engagement on knowing that Arnav loved Kushi her newly found best friend.
SHASHI GUPTA AKA BUAJI
SHASHI JI
Shashiji was one of the most understated characters in IPKKNd. His love for both his daughters even though Kushi was adopted and his love and support for his wife even when he was paralyzed was indeed endearing. His fight to bring the truth out about Shyam was an futile one and one person who never got the justice he so much deserved.
Garima Gupta aka Amma
Garima was a most selfless character who gave up all her happiness in life for the sake of her husband and daughters. The way she was willing to go to any extent for her daughter's happiness is indeed remarkable.
Madhumathi aka Buaji,

This remarkable lady was total support to her brother and his family. When they lost all their money after Payal's first wedding fiasco, she bought the two girls Payalia and Sankadevi to Delhi. She was genuinely found of Kushi and Payal and had great regard for the Raizada's and her love for her Nanadakishore is worth remembering. Her banter with Maamiji used to keep the audience in splits.
SUBDHADRA DEVI AKA Daadiji,

Daadiji, Arnav paternal grandmother was a classmate and close friend of Naaniji. Sumi as she was called by Naaniji was indeed very rigid, arrogant and looked down and used people as she felt like. A master manipulator was outdone by her partner in crime Shyam. She was one of the most unpopular characters of the show.
THE PRAKASH BROTHERS
JAI PRAKASH HARIPRAKASH 1 HARIPRAKASH 2 OMPRAKASH 1 OM PRAKASH 2
The Prakash brothers Jai Prakash, Om Prakash and Hari Prakash were indeed the part of the Raizada Parivaar and their appearance or disappearance was indded a mystery yet to be solved in the show
Lakshmiji,
LAKSHMI NAANI'S PET
The goat a pet of Naaniji was indeed a first for any show in India. It was just not a pet but an very intelligent person as they saw her. She was Kushi's best friend when she really needed her. All the viewers missed her sudden disappearance from the show.

RAHIM CHACHA ONE OF THE FIRST TO WELCOME KUSHI IN RM
ROCKY

LALLAN
Rocky,Lallan, and the kidnapping gang kept us entertained for nearly two months. The extras of the show also had a part to play for they also were recycled like Kushi's dresses and we had fun spotting them.
Last but not the least, Aman, The right hand of Arnav remained invisible like Mr. India, much to our disappointment.
The Crew of IPKKND who gave this iconic show to us have to be mentioned also, for without them there would be no show.
The Writers of the show:Ved Raj, Sudhir Kumar, Gautam Hegde, Janak V. Hitesh Kewalya who gave us such a brilliant story and dialogues which are unforgettable
