Anandi was in her school, finishing all her schoolwork. She was eagerly looking through the window, to check on shiv's arrival.

The day after tomorrow it was their first Diwali after marriage. Anandi asked shiv to take her for shopping in the Jaipur shopping complex. They were planning to buy Diwali gifts for singhs and shekars. And anandi planned to make sweets herself., so she had to buy lots of groceries.

Anandi was looking at the clock, it was 4.00 pm. She was about to call shiv, when she heard the jeep's horn sound. She saw through the window and saw shiv getting out of his jeep. She ran outside,

" I have been waiting for a long time, why were you late, I asked you to come at 3.30, I have lots to shop" she said desperately.

Shiv said " we can make it, relax, don't worry".

They climbed the jeep and shiv started driving. " I was stuck up in a meeting. So I wasn't able to call and inform you. Sorry."

Anandi said " it's ok shiv, I was tensed wondering whether we could make it in time and come back home early. You know we have to buy lots of things. Gifts, groceries for sweets etc,".

" ok, ok, I know, I would say we will buy ready made sweets from sweet shops. You don't have to do it all yourself, dear." He requested her.

" no, shiv dadisa always says " sweets will be more tastier if they are made by us, as we add our love and affection". So I will prepare you don't worry, I have asked Lakshmi kaki, to help me. ".

Shiv smiled at her and said " ok, baba,ok! As sarpanchji says".

They reached Jaipur at 6.00. Anandi went to finish her grocery shopping and later joined shiv in selecting gifts for all the family members. " this time you will do the Lakshmi pooja in our house,",

" yeah, first Diwali, first Lakshmi pooja, as chotimaa said last year. Iam so happy, that everything is fine and settled between us" anandi said with a sense of satisfaction in her eyes.

" yeah. That's true". " and " come on, we will finish the gifts shopping, then we will have dinner in the nearby restaurant" shiv said.

They had fun in selecting gifts for every one, while billing shiv said to anandi " you take the car key, sit in the car, I'll finish the billing and come there, you would have been standing for a long time in school also. Go anandi go take rest in the car" holding out the key shiv told his wife concernedly.

" no, Iam fine, I'll stand with you". Anandi said.

After one hour, they were in the car driving back to jaitsar.

They came home at 9.00 pm. " shiv, I've to finish the sweets" " you will tired, go and sleep".

Shiv said" I have to finish tender quotation file on our nehar project, I'll be working for some time" he kissed anandi and went upstairs to his room with his laptop in hand.

Anandi along with Lakshmi kaki cooked sweets. It took two hours for her. She had finished badam halwa, kaju cake and finally she was frying jalebis"

Shiv came down, " are you done, sweetheart," he asked her.

" yeah shiv, another ten minutes," as a mark of her hardworking that day, she had sweat all over her face. Shiv came in front of her, wiped her sweat with his hanky. Then Lakshmi kaki left, shiv dropped her in her house and came to anandi, she was packing the sweets in two boxes one for singhs and one for shekars.

Shiv had a parcel in his hands, " anandi" he closed her eyes from behind and gave her the parcel, which was a Diwali gift from shiv to her.

Anandi took the parcel " shiv, what surprise is this," she happily opened the gift which was a pink suit, " oh, shiv it's lovely" but " I've never tried on these type of clothes, Iam afraid it will look good on me" she was worried. Shiv placed a soft kiss on her lips, and said " dear, you are so beautiful, so every dress will suit you very well, dear."

" but, I didn't buy any gifts for you, sorry shiv" she hugged him. " no, problem, I don't need any gift, as you are a big gift for me" " and by the way, sarpanchji, nowadays you seem to have a special glow on you" unable to control the urge, he kissed her passionately. Anandi kissed him back with equal enthusiasm.

After some time they broke apart. " come, we will go to bed". Anandi obliged and was about to come out of the kitchen, suddenly she felt giddiness . She fell backwards unconsciously and shiv sensed her from behind and caught her in time. He was very afraid seeing his wife unconscious. He carried her to their bedroom, made her lie down on bed. He tried to wake her up and called lal singh.

Lal singh came, shiv told him" she was looking very tired, and we had to go out for shopping also." Lsingh went inside checked anandi, as she was slowly getting back her consciousness.

After checking the pulse bp, pulse lal singh asked anandi " anandi, do you have vomiting sensation. Or did you vomit earlier?"

Anandi replied " yeah, lal singh, I vomited once in school after the lunch."

Lal singh came out , shiv was standing nervously outside, lal singh smiled and said " don't worry, collector Saab, it's a good news, anandi is pregnant. Congrats, you are going to become a father."

He shaked shiv's hand who was looking very surprised and happy now. L singh prescribed some vitamin tablets to anandi, and he left.

</div><div>Anandi heard what l singh said, she couldn't believe her ears. She touched her stomach and felt as if a flower has bloomed there to brighten their life and happiness even more.

She felt so happy, and had tears in her eyes.

Shiv came inside. Even his eyes were filled with great contempt and unbound happiness. He came and sat down on the bed next to anandi. She instantly hugged him tightly. Both were immersed in their new found happiness. After what seemed like ages they broke apart.

" anandi, you felt bad that you didn't get me a gift for Diwali, now you have given a wonderful gift, which nobody can give me. This is the best gift that I have received in my entire life, " " thank you dear,". He kissed her on her cheeks. Anandi said " shiv, you gave all the happiness in the world. And now you have given me the pleasure of being a mother to your kids. I can't say it in words that how happy Iam" she broke down completely on his shoulders. Shiv lifted her off his shoulders, wiped her tears. " anandi, the time for crying has gone in your life,. Now is the time to be happy." " smile now" and shiv smiled at her with tears in his eyes. Anandi wiped his tears. " shiv! I love you". " I love you anandi".
