Has he actually donated his bone marrow or he registered to donate? From what I know bone marrow donor has to be a perfect match and thats possible mainly among siblings. If he donated his bone marrow then great...but its strange that no big publication like TOI or Hindustan Times covered it.

The Zee News article makes bone marrow donation sound like blood donation with a whole football team planning to donate and then backing out.

Dr. Sunil Parekh from MDRI has thanked Salman for this on behalf of the people suffering from the disease. The actor heard about a patient called Pooja, about four years back and then instantly he decided to help the girl. He kept his promise by donating his bone marrow and associated his foundation 'Being Human" with MDRI. However, the 44-year-old actor is interested in making a film based on the issue because he feels there is no taker for such a film. Salman is right because his last issue-based film Phir Milenge, which was made on the topic of AIDS, bombed at the box office.
