Simi Garewal had an affair in the 80's with a noted businessman from Pakistan Salman Taseer who later became the Governor of Punjab in Pakistan and who was assasinated in January this year and who's son was kidnapped recently in Lahore in August...

Nadira seems like a very strong and forgiving woman.

The whole untied family thing they put on when Prateik made his debut was endearing. Then Prateik and his brother had that pretty public war of words (well Prateik didn't really say much), and soon after I found out he was raised by his grandparents. Do the Babar family actually accept him?

I remember being really shocked they were on such good terms when he first came out because of the whole Smita/Raj thing happening whilst Raj was married to Nadira, and had already had two kids with her (who he essentially left for Smita).

Well Smita Patil comes from a highly political backgrnd in maharashtra. She ventured into BW and was in artistic cinema mailnly. She acted in few commercial films as well..but her forte was the parallel cinema.

Raj babbar and she got involved during these times..raj babbar was already married to nadira during this time and had kids from her as well. However, he was nowhere with smita during her pregnancy times and she died just a week or so after prateik was born (if i remember she had cancer as well and it worsened after childbirth). Prateik was completely brought up by his grandma and his maasi. He is extremely attached to them as well. All his life, he hasnt experienced much of fatherly love. He has even gone on record to say that in one of his interview. His maasi ji is well connected with media and she once had mentioned about how lonely prateik was as a kid. She says that he would v rarely talk much and the only thing which really inetrested him was playin cricket for most of his childhood. that was the only time when u could get him into communicating much. Later, when prateik wanted to venture into BW...it actually came as a surprise to his gaurdians but they were OK with it. Surprised coz he was such a recluse and dint seem to be the kind of person who would like to be in limelite. and if u remember intital years , he actually did come across like that socially. It was only later (when he got involved with amy jackson), did he open up with media and became more social and also started building his look etc. Prateik has never suffixed the Babbar surname to his name all his life. When he came into BW, he was referrred to as prateik babbar by media. He categorically told the media to call him by his 1st name only and drop the babbar. Later, when prateik started getting recognition (after janne na times n amy jackson movie),,did raj babbar patch up with him and prateik since then if referred as prateik babbar...Raj Babbar is into politics now and maybe he wanted to avoid this entire controversy and hence got his family together on a social platform to show the All is well. However, that is just a facade and there is no relation between prateik n raj babbars family. Its a well known fact that when prateik was born ...raj babbar dint even acknowledge him as his kid...he never denied it outright..but nvr supported it as well socially...it was much later..when media mentioned prateik as babbars kid ..that he acknowledge but he never gave much importance to this aspect .

If u think of prateik..he has led a diffcult life. Imagine having lost mom as an infant and not having experienced love of a father, who is v much alive!😕 He was lucky that he was bought up with much love n care by his moms side..esp his maasi who is like his own mom 😊

..n how do i know all of this..i follow BW v closely for many yrs now and my mom also had the same habit😆 so we have gone thru filmi mags for a v long long time. The part abt prateiks detailed childhood was v documented in a blog..which was written by a v popular journalist who is v close to patil family. If u read that...it touches your heart...it really feels bad realising how much emotional turmoil prateik had to go thru. If i can find that link..will post it here...
