Will our over-worked television stars be allowed to take a break this
Diwali? We find out
Rohit Roy
I have been shooting every day this year. But I've already informed my
directors that I won't be working this Diwali. This is one day when
everyone must be with family. We haven't yet done any shopping. I
guess I'll take Maansi and our daughter Kiara out shopping and after that
we'll have the Lakshmi puja.
Ram Kapoor
I am working during the first half of the day on Diwali. But after I wind up,
I'll head straight home. It's my daughter's first Diwali and I want to buy
her something that she'll remember forever. I've already bought a
surprise gift for my wife Gautami. My entire family will be together for the
puja. After that, I'll go to my in-law's house to take their blessings.
Sangeeta Ghosh
I am in Kolkata right now, but I am definitely coming back to Mumbai for
Diwali. I hope I will not have to shoot during Diwali. I will be celebrating
the festival of light with my family and friends. But, I have not done any
shopping yet and I am really feeling upset about not having bought any
gifts for the people I love. I think, without shopping, this is going to be
ne of the most thanda Diwalis of my life.
Anuj Saxena
This is one day when I don't work at all. This day is for socialising and
exchanging greetings with near and dear ones. So I am always in Mumbai
on Diwali. We have the tradition of performing the morning puja which we
do at home and in all our offices. The day goes by with me generally
celebrating with my family and friends and then ends with a family dinner.
Shweta Kawatra
Well, the first thing comes to my mind when I think of Diwali is to get up
from bed and go for a party (laughs). As my family is not in Mumbai,
Manav and I will be celebrating by ourselves and spending all our time
with each other. As for rituals, they don't excite me too much. I do
decorate my house with diyas and perform the puja, but that's about all. I
don't burst crackers. Moreover, I will be practising my dance steps for my
dance show, and that will take away at least 6-8 hours from Diwali day.
Rajeshwari Sachdev
This year, we will be having a small puja at our new home. Both Varun
(Badola) and I have been working every day without any break. As of
now, we've decided to take the day off. You never know when we'll be
called in to work though! It will be our first holiday in months. I have
decided to make the most of it. I also plan to cook for my family and feed
them loads of mithais.
