Ppl i donno y d indian filmmakers REALLY lack originality

First our filmmakers copy the script....idea n concept 4m othr foreign films n term it as "Inspiration"..........n now dey r simply copyin d same 4m our own previous hit bollywood films n r terming it as "Remakes".......

d question here is dat ver has d originality gone???????Our previous filmmakers made original films vid fresh stories (lik Sholay....Don....etc n a HUGE string of hit films).........but now its very rare ven u dont cum across in d newspaper dat d movie is not inspired 4m another one....evn Rang De Basanti vich i realli liked b-came another Hollywood-flick inspired movie..

Now is ur bollywood going to dogs as EVERY movie is either inspired 4m a Hollywood-flick or is a remake of another Hindi film (Don Sholay Umrao Jaan)????????????....

Ver has d originality disappeared????
Ppl do u agree dat now bollywood lacks originality

Ya I agree with you 100%...day by day Bollywood is losing more and more originality...I mean I dont really mind that much of them copying a hollywood film, but why are they ruining classics by remaking them. I mean I like to watch Indian movies rather than watching an American movie, and I dont really mind watching the indian version, becuase i find it more entertaining with songs and top actors, but when they do remakes they are just copying almost the whole thing, but adding more modern elements to it...even tho i am a hrithik fan...i dont think Krrish is the best movie of the year...i would go for RDB or LRMB because those are probably the only original movies that are hige hits in 2006...so for me sequels and hollywood "inspired" (the way the directors like to call it...lol) are much better than remakes

the industry has lost their touch i understand sequals, dhoom 2, lage raho munna bhai, krish but sholay, don, umrao jaan, i think it is really a stupid idea because it just shows the ability of a film maker to copy and original idea(plagerism), dont make a film if it is not your idea or your story, i really dont think people want to see the same story again and again, at least sequals are made to CONTINUE a story that was appreciated by the audience, not show them the same thing

Are remakes worth making?

Anyway, I am disappointed with Umrao-Jaan music. All of Shahryar-Khayyam-Asha ji trio were superior to Javed-Akhtar-Anu Malik-Alka Yagnik combination and the differential in the sum is exponantially more striking than sum of the individual differentials.

I doubt Ash can show the maturity of Rekha. The only thing promising is seeing Abhishek in stead of Farooq Sheikh. But who will play Naseer's masterfully understated role?

...and has anyone notified J.P. Datta that Lakhnow is not in Rajasthan?

BTW, Javed Akhatar should not recite on any of the albums. Someone needs to tell him that he is no Gulzar.

O M G!! You have said everything that I wanted to say. I agree with every letter of your post. Thanks... 😃

C'mon - it's pretty much always lacked originality|!

We are told that this is because because it is cinema made for the masses (of Indsia predominantly) and therefore escapist to the nth degree!

It needs tried and tested formulasd and is therefore not eager to try new ideas or new approaches - like reality - as no one goes to the cinema to see that which they encounter everyday!

😡 Madds 😡
