Yes she's playing the villain.

She cheats on her husband with his best friend and Neil catches them on camera, so he blackmails her and it's basically a cat and mouse game as they both try to up one another.

Neil reminds me of Johnny Gaddar days. I like it. He really doesn't belong in bollywood, he should come to hollywood, for sure he'll be much appreciated and be more famous there. In bollywood, they only care about kapoors
